editA first class movie of conscience, honesty, fear, guilt and redemption all in one boiling plot.
I added Herb Stemple (I can't believe his name wasn't there), but now the sentence does not flow. Wjbean 15:48, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Cleanup
editWiki'd it up a bit, even though it has very little to do with my constant, ongoing efforts to suck-up to the government of Liechtenstein. Wilybadger 04:12, 21 September 2006 (UTC)+
Don't Delete
editDon't delete, our whole school will use this (2,000) people to review the film. it is the perfect length.
Quote Chages
editIf I'm wrong then please correct me but... "If you look around the table and you can't tell who the sucker is ... it's you." ...is from Rounders. It doesn't make much sense in this film. Is it really in it? Also, "This is a quiz show" really isn't a very good quote. Speedything 13:38, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that suckers line is in the movie. All Hallow's (talk) 07:55, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Van Doren lost on purpose
editI think it needs to be pointed out that, in the end, Van Doren lost on purpose. And to a question he had answered in front of Goodwin before so Goodwin knew Van Doren was backing down on purpose. I think it's an important point to make since it shows Van Doren conscously deciding to end his run as opposed to simply loosing naturally.
I don't have the DVD or I'd re-write the plot summary myself. Padillah 19:46, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

NY DA's investigation is in the movie
editThe article currently says "There is also no mention of the initial investigation, led by prosecutor Joseph Stone from the office of New York County District Attorney Frank Hogan. Only after Judge Mitchell Schweitzer sealed the New York Grand Jury findings in the June 1959 probe did Congress launch its investigation." Not true, one of the offices Stempel goes into is Hogan's office. Goodwin initially becomes interested after the findings of Hogan's Grand Jury are sealed. Jim Hardy (talk) 05:49, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Box Office
editSomeone seems to think less than $25 million dollars is a box office success. This is not true of any film released in the 1980s or post 1980s. If it cost a million dollars to produce and then went on to make $25 million dollars then it became a good return on a million dollar investment, but not a box office success, which is determined by amount of ticket sales. I loved Quiz Show the film and wish it had been a successful film, but the fact is it was not. I do not know why the citation of it being a critcal success keeps being replaced by that of it was a box office success, which is not fact, it is fiction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ilovepinkyrings (talk • contribs) 04:29, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Quiz Show → Quiz Show (film) – Either the film or Quiz show (current redirect to Game show) is popular. However, both terms are significant in a long-term. "Quiz show" is a show of quizzes, like Jeopardy!; the film was based on quiz show scandals. More precision is needed. As for the "quiz show" redirect, leave it that way, and I don't propose that quiz show (disambiguation) be primary... yet. George Ho (talk) 03:58, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support, capitalization here doesn't seem that clear. Red Slash 04:43, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
