I think this article Racism in Film of the United States is too sketchy to be separate from The Birth of a Nation, which already exists. The hook is noneventful, it seems to me. Billy Hathorn (talk) 03:06, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Racism in Early American Film

edit

The examples for the racism film are accurate, however the detailed description of how the characters of different race were portrayed in film were lacking. Instead of just elaborating how Caucasians were playing African-American role and painted themselves in black, the description of how those characters were also portrayed in the film should have been included as well. Even though it was a definite descrimination of Caucasians taking over African-American's role, they might have been portrayed as positive characters in the film. As well as for other races that have been discussed in the article should have been more descriptive. As well as for the Arabs, it might have been certain characters playing the evil role and other Arabs might have been portrayed as good. Also, Native Americans portrayed as savages should also be reviewed based on the genere of the film. If the background of the film were back in the days and directly showing how their lifestyle was, then it should be modified. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.62.206.150 (talk) 18:55, 23 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

There's a lot of issues with formatting, but especially with the categories of groups that were stereotyped in early HOllywood. I plan to reformat it and go further in depth. I think this page has merit for existing, but it's pretty rough. Maskedjae (talk) 06:18, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
