Location of Raipur on map

edit

Location of raipur on map is not correct. red dot on the map, which is locating raipur, is wrongly place to western sice og chhattisgarh, actually it lies at the mid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.3.51.241 (talk) 20:02, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, no a single reference is about the city of Raipur, but always about the district. I changed the population, but is not too much. This article must be moved to

Please explain why this page should be moved. It does not seem there is any good reason. --—innotata (TalkContribs) 16:40, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose The article states that Raipur is a city which is the administrative centre of Raipur District. That would suggest that Raipur and Raipur District are different entities. Plus, as innotata states, no reason is given for a move. Skinsmoke (talk) 10:54, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

See Raipur district for the district article. —innotata (TalkContribs) 17:03, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Raipur, ChhattisgarhRaipur — The original reason for moving this article from "Raipur" to "Raipur, Chhattisgarh" seems unclear. Of the places listed at Raipur (disambiguation), this Raipur had a population of 1560667 (in 2001), ten times as large as Raipur, Bankura (pop. 151274 in 2001) and sixty times as large as Raipur, Uttarakhand (pop. 24887 in 2001). The remaining Raipurs are small towns and villages. This Raipur is also a state capital, a status not matched by any of the other Raipurs. Clearly this Raipur is the primary use of the name and therefore this article should be moved back to Raipur. Green Giant (talk) 12:37, 5 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
