Is his name Sitaram Das or Sitaram Ray? The article gives both surnames, so which one is the commonly used one to refer to him? --Ragib (talk) 15:34, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
His family surname is Das. Ray is a title. But Ray is commonly used. In his novel Sitaram, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay referred to him as Sitaram Ray. Historian Satish Chandra Mitra referred to him as Sitaram Ray. So I think the latter one is the most commonly used. BengaliHindu (talk) 11:01, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
