Combo guard
editCombo guard is the correct term for him, later I'm going to make a combo guard article. Really he is a pure shooting guard who has to play point guard because of the situation his team is in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adjohnson916 (talk • contribs) 21:07, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Point guard or shooting guard?
editI see the beginnings of an edit war over this, so let's get it straight right now. Foye can play both shooting guard and point guard. He was listed as a shooting guard in college, but he's a little short to play that position in the NBA, so he will and has seen time at both positions.
Look around at other articles on players similar to Foye:
Allen Iverson, Salim Stoudamire, Jamal Crawford, Delonte West are all listed as a guards (their position links here).
Nate Robinson is listed as a point guard even though he was SG in college and has split time in the pros.
Kirk Hinrich, who starts at SG now, but has been a PG for most of his career, is listed as both point guard and shooting guard.
kirk doesn't start at SG ben gordon does —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.15.153.255 (talk) 21:01, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Luther Head and Juan Dixon are listed as shooting guards, even though a lot of their playing time comes at the point guard.
There really isn't a standard, but to me the answer seems obvious. The guy is a guard. That's what Yahoo! Sports lists him as (NBA.com doesn't distinguish between SG and PG). There's no reason to call him something that there is no way to definitively say he is. He hasn't started any games, so his position hasn't been listed. I'm going to edit the page and list him as a guard, and if anyone has any objections, please voice them here before you make a change.Maxterpiece 12:38, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Left pectoral
editIt's interesting that his tattoo is on his left pectoral. It would be funny if he did that because he thought that's where his heart was.
