León (historical region) → Region of León – This is the most commonly used name for the region and the one Asturian (Leonese and Asturian are the same language), Spanish and other Wikipedia editions of languages of Spain use (with the exception of Extremaduran, also the same as Leonese and Asturian, which uses "Leonese Country"). Oppose per WP:CONSISTENT.Entries under Category:Historical regions in Spain do not confirm the existence of a single main title header using the form "Region of...", while confirming the presence of at least one other entry using the same parenthetical qualifier — Castile (historical region). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 04:18, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- There's only one single page apart of this one using the "(historical region)" format on that category. WP:CONSISTENT hardly applies here, and I fail to see how it is an argument by itself to prevent any moves to both articles. I will ask for sources that show that this region is referred to simply as "León". I can provide sources showing that "Región de León" is indeed used: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Here is also an English-language source, [7]. I will again note that none of the Wikipedia editions of languages of Spain use this format and that the lead of this article already uses "Region of León", not just "León". And it's been like that ever since the article was created [8]. This region is simply not called "León" only. Super Ψ Dro 11:18, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- In response, I am striking my "oppose" vote above and changing it to neutral since it actually is difficult to argue WP:CONSISTENT here. There is one currently existing "Region of..." main title header that relates to Spain — Region of Murcia — while the obvious reason that León (historical region) and Castile (historical region) use that parenthetical qualifier is because the main title headers for these historical regions need to be disambiguated from headers such as León, Spain or Castile and León at the León/Leon and Castile disambiguation pages.
- In fact, it may be argued that the proposed main header — Region of León — is, in fact, consistent, since it would use a form analogous to existing headers for articles such as Province of León, Kingdom of León and Viscounty of Léon. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:44, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

- Support for the reasons in the nomination, as long as there is no other region named "León". Red Slash 22:05, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
