Clarifications needed
editThere are several parts that the article doesn't make at all clear:
- is the MP Sydney Silverman (his article suggest it is; if so, please link from there to here)? (it's clearly not Samuel Silverman)
- if it is Sydney Silverman, the article should say "Sydney Silverman, British Member of Parliament" or something like that
- the article is really confusing about how the telegram was sent. Was it sent via Silverman and Wise or to Silverman and Wise; was it sent by the British and US diplomats, via them, or what? The first part of the article seems to say that Silverman and Wise were the "diplomatic channels", but the later para about Wise shows that he's the final recipient.
- the quote "a wild rumour, fuelled by Jewish anxieties" should be sourced with an inline reference, ideally to a specific person or department.
- the sentence "...Rabbi Stephen Wise, who acted on it." doesn't say how he acted on it - in the next sentence Morgenthau is talking about it, but the article doesn't say if Wise talked to Morgenthau, or what.
