I saw that there is an image of the game in third person, but as I understand it, the game is mostly an RTS game. I think that it might be a good idea to add show the ingame RTS aspect also.--Clyde (talk) 21:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I know. It doesn't look good that way, but most websites use watermarks on their screenshots; the only one I know doesn't is HeavenGames. I've already looked through these, but the one in the article was the only good one. I've created an account, to try to access the other album, but it doesn't seem to work; I asked how to do this on the forum [1]. Let's see in anyone answers my question now... · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 10:44, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I've found three we could use. Which do you think is best, this screenshot, this one, or this promotional image? Should we only choose one, or two? · AndonicO Talk · Sign Here 13:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Passes GA

edit

(No checklist, because it passes all criteria beautifully)

To nitpick a little bit, this sentence in the lead: "...eight hero units, of which only one may be purchased per game." I assume "purchase" means using in-game resources, but it isn't made clear here. Additionally, I'm not sure if the "shooter" part of "third-person shooter" is accurate. After that, I fixed up a couple minor problems with unneeded refs. Really, the only thing I'd recommend before gunning for FAC is fixing up the refs properly to include such details as the author, etc. Nifboy 14:53, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, first of all, thank you. Heroes are bought in game, I thought the "per game" part already explained that. You're right about the "shooter" part, sometimes they're archers, but the default is melee. About the refs, do you mean the author of the reviews? · AO Talk 15:36, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I fixed the hero part, but I couldn't find a more appropriate genre to substitute TPS here. And I'm still not quite sure what you mean about the refs. Thanks for helping! · AO Talk 15:42, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Here's an example of a more fully-fledged citation. Nifboy 17:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks for the tip; I'll fix those refs soon! · AO Talk 17:22, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I filled out all the info I know about the refs in the Intro. However, I don't know the author or date for the first one (Gamespot summary), I don't know who did the GameSpy interview or when (should I write down Rick Goodman?), I don't know who I should say is the author—or when they wrote the page—at HeavenGames ([2] [3]) or Gamerankings ([4]). More specifically, help please! Do I have to add all the information you added, or just what I know (how I have it)? I'd appreciate a clarification; thanks! · AO Talk 19:20, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Summaries and other non-article pages (heavengames) usually don't have attribution, so don't bother with author/date there. The interview is by Allen Rausch (see top of page 1), July 6, 2005. Nifboy 19:39, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I fixed the interview; is the intro fine like that then? I'll keep doing that for the rest of the article. · AO Talk 19:52, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I think I did them correctly. Is that fine? · AO Talk 20:43, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Looks good to me. Nifboy 22:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I'll probably add it to FPC next week. Thanks for your help! · AO Talk 22:26, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Some stuff

edit

I tried to fix some of the punctuation, as well as other stuff. I don't know if all was done right, but you guys can check on it and rv in case it's better to not have it; however, some stuff was removed and should remain so, such as a double "for," etc. Also, about Memnon: isn't this the guy you should link to? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memnon_of_Rhodes --Thus Spake Anittas 01:03, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't have caught that double "for". :) Anyways, I could only find about one or two mistakes, but most of your changes are good. I thought that Memnon of Rhodes could be the same general as in the game, but unfortunatly, no. He (the real life fellow) wasn't a general, and he wasn't Persian (just fighting for them). · AO Talk 01:19, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Dashes and commas are both acceptable, although one must ensure consistency. — Deckiller 01:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, is that fine then? I also added a part about single player into the multiplayer section. Does that look good? · AO Talk 01:47, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Congrats on the FA!

edit

Congrats to User:AndonicO and those who helped him to promote the article to FA! --Thus Spake Anittas 20:29, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Haha! That includes you Anittas. Thank you, and you're welcome. I only just noticed it's an FA, so I was pretty surprised. :-) · AO Talk 01:17, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

&

edit

Technically, theres no And in the title of this game, it uses the & symbol, that should probably be fixed by someone who knows how and the alternative should be a redirect —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.17.155.35 (talk) 20:22, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

When it is written, it is written as the title of the article, altough on Wiki, you seem to be able to do what you want. See I Heart Huckabees. --Thus Spake Anittas 21:21, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War redirects to Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War, so no one will ever get confused. And technically, yes, it is "&", according to the game box. However, most sites (including the official site) use either "and", or both. · AndonicO Talk 01:11, 6 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

"(unplayable for the non-US IP addresses)"

edit

This phrase is at the end of the lead section, but is not accompanied by a reference. The GamersHell page from which it is available does not mention any geographical restrictions, and when I (in the UK) click on the link there it does allow me to start the download. (It's over two gigabytes, so I'm disinclined to let it complete!) Is the phrase accurate? Loganberry (Talk) 03:29, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Likewise, I live in Canada and the game is working for me, perhaps we should remove it? I think only some of the Midway Games released as ad supported titles are region locked. --Elven6 (talk) 14:53, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

US Airforce

edit

The part about the US air force supporting the project makes no sense and the cite says nothing about it. Someone should check that out.99.224.94.158 (talk) 14:03, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Release dates!

edit

The release date in the right panel is "June 13, 1771", this conflicts with the release date as stated in the first paragraph "it was released on June 12, 2006". Somebody should revise and fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qtvmuoi (talkcontribs) 03:48, 16 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Concerns about the article

edit

I am planning on take this article to FAR soon. The concerns is the its referencing as a majority of the sources here are from a fansite (Rise and Fall Heaven). The entire "Gameplay" section needs a rewrite to meet standards as well. GamerPro64 15:39, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
