wikification tag

edit

I propose removing the wikify tag at the top of this article. Since that tag was placed in February 2009 the article has had sections added following recommendations at WP:LAYOUT and WP:FOOTER, it has had an infobox added and a navbox, as well as several relevant wikilinks. 67.86.75.96 (talk) 03:33, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

No objection to tag removal was raised here. The tag has been removed. 24.44.15.150 (talk) 23:35, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

photo caption inaccuracy

edit

I propose to edit the photo caption of the streetcar reading "Car 756, "Dottie", at the carhouse" to "Car 756, "Dottie", emerging westbound from the Hyatt tunnel" or some other such wording. Having been to river street multiple times, this is clearly not the carhouse as the "carbarn" is a small metal shed at the west end of the line at River Street and Martian Luther King Jr. Blvd. For further proof of this, go to 93 West River Street, Savannah, United States at http://maps.google.com, go to "Street View" and turn to the right so you are looking down the street and maybe back up a bit and you will see the exact same tunnel the car is emerging from. Back up some more and you will see that this is the Hyatt building that was built over river street. This may be a minor observation, but this entire project is about accuracy and furthermore I believe that this misrepresents the streetcar by suggesting the presence of a large glamorous carhouse when in fact the carhouse is a tiny metal shed just large enough to fit the streetcar and is the type you would buy to keep your lawn equipment under. I'm not saying this is a bad thing as it cuts operating and capital costs, but it should not be represented as otherwise, especially in an encyclopedia article. I will now open this up to comment. Thanks. -Lucasaltic

possible plaigerism

edit

Parts of this article, such as the introduction, have the same exact wording as the website located at http://www.savannah.com/river-street-steetcar/. I am not sure which article originated first or if the authors of both articles are the same, but I just wanted to point this out for comment. If anyone has any information about this, please provide your insight. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucasaltic (talkcontribs) 19:02, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
