Size of Greek population
editI know in pre-1974 the Greek population had been he vast majority of the town's population. But the number has dwindled, the last number I read was stated at approx. 500 people (Rizokarpaso must have about 5,000 people now, ?). Does anyone know the current situation? The article says the Greek population (back then about 3,000, ?) couldn't flee to South Cyprus, but so many left over the years, mainly for economic reasons (the Turkish part of Cyprus had a much lower economic standard that the Greek part). Another issue was schooling, now finally there is a small Greek high school, it started a few years ago. The question is, whether the community can survive. Anyone has the latest news (maybe even someone from the community)?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.226.48.236 (talk) 16:46, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Deletion of the Mosque
editIn the original picture, there are both mosque and church, next to each other, as an indication of religional tolerance of Turks towards the other cultures and religions. But, somebody continuously deletes the image in which both mosque and church exists, and puts the image only church appears. Turks administrated the whole Cyprus from 1571 to 1878. They protected the cultures, hence there are many religous places protected by Turks. LogicalSolution (talk) 17:44, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
