Romper Room

edit

Is there any link between the Romper Room line and the film's title? Sounds like coincidence to me. Shall we remove it? Cnwb 10:49, 27 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

It's novel trivia at the most, certainly not worthy of a See Also. mordemur 13:01, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I've removed it, as it didn't seem to have any bearing on the article. Cnwb 22:58, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

"Romper Stompers" were like cups with strings attached - a child's toy that they could walk around on - like stilts. The name "Romper Stomper" was also a slang reference to platform shoes - worn by male skinhead gangs in the mid 1970s in Melbourne. StephenSmith (talk) 17:34, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vietnamese-Australian stars from Romper Stomper

edit

Did Romper Stomper prove to be a breakout for the Vietnamese-Australian stars of Romper Stomper? Or did the producers not give a stuff about them once they were captured on celluloid?

I'm not clear what you mean. Presumably the producers of the film hired the actors to play the roles they had, then the actors were released once they'd finished their work. It was a low budget film, they may have been paid very little, but I don't think that anyone becomes rich by playing small parts. Good luck to them wherever they are. The orchestral music for this film was arranged by John Hawker - of the Anne and Johnny Hawker Big Band - and was written by John Clifford-White, who also did the scores for TV's "Flying Doctors" soap opera series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by StephenSmith (talkcontribs) 17:37, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Censorship bias

edit

When Romper Stomper was released in the UK, there were objections that the film could generate support for the extreme right. This does not tally with the general condemnation put forth by the page.

The only "support" it might generate is hard-luck sympathy, as the hapless crew are shown consistently coming off much the worse in all their scrapes. Nuttyskin (talk) 02:24, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Plot summary

edit

I've removed the excessively long plot summary and restored an earlier short version, which could of course do with a bit of fleshing out. [ [1]. --Tony Sidaway 22:32, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well it sucks; the movie is not just about a love triangle... --Steinfeld7 (talk) 15:17, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Soundtrack Doesn't Give Credit to Bands

edit

The soundtrack includes work from many far-right bands like Skrewdriver and Fortress, yet doesn't credit the bands. Is there a way to include this fact? 74.64.22.193 (talk) 00:16, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The soundtrack was not written by any real racist bands - it was written by John Clifford White and performed by him and the Bastard Squad, who used the name "Master Race" for the film. FokkerTISM 08:51, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
