Riflery

edit

Roswell has not won a state championship in riflery. They finished second in 2000, their highest finish. They did not even qualify for state in 2005 as some person keeps adding.

The standings for 2005 Rifle are listed here: http://www.gadaonline.net/?t=30&v=26&w=103&wy=2005&class=8&s=41&sex=1

How do I stop this guy from changing it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by AUburnTiger (talkcontribs) 19:05, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tone and Neutrality

edit

I'm going to take a crack at neutralizing the tone of the article and cutting out some of the WP:POV issues present here. Please Let me know if there are any issues. Adam McCormick (talk) 20:25, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've gone through the article and removed a lot of the biased or overly-detailed content especially from the football section. Someone should go through all the references and clean them up so the article is easier to edit. For this article to reach GA it needs to have references for every section. GA comment

edit

Just a comment, not a review: having a cleanup tag, like the neutrality one here, on an article is a quick-fail criteria. I would suggest that you withdraw your GA-nomination and addressing that issue before trying again. --Gimme danger (talk) 20:02, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Splice

edit

I spliced out all the state championship appearances to List_of_Roswell_High_School_(Georgia)_state_championship_appearances, leaving a See also tag in the Athletics section. Some of the text will consequently need to be modified, but there's no way it would have passed GAN with all those lists, per GA criterion 1b (list incorporation). The remaining lists (at least alumni) need to be converted to prose as well. Best wishes. --Eustress (talk) 01:29, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I reorganized the athletics section. I merged lacrosse, baseball, and track into one section, leaving football and gymnastics as is.AUburnTiger (talk) 20:38, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
You might also consider making a template to go at the bottom of the page in lieu of the Region 6 list. (See for example Template:Pacific West Conference.) Might help conserve space and not be so obtrusive. --Eustress (talk) 22:41, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
That sounds like a good idea, how do you create a templete? AUburnTiger (talk) 02:24, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Never mind, I figured it all out. Now I need to figure out a way to turn the alumni section into prose. Any ideas? AUburnTiger (talk) 02:24, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Best tack is to find more information about each alum and how they featured in the history of the school, then possibly integrate them into the history section with citations for each. Barring that, there's not a lot that can be done short of axing the ones that didn't do anything for the school (which is not such a big loss if they didn't contribute enough to produce a couple sentences worth of information). Since so many of the notables are from the baseball program, they could all be grouped into a couple sentences. Adam McCormick (talk) 03:21, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
