Moved as proposed. The discussion is a bit difficult to parse, but the upshot is a consensus to move as proposed. BD2412 T 02:53, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Minerva Academy FCRoundGlass Punjab FC – This football club is a continuation of Minerva Academy. See the sources here and here. Both articles actually reference the other names "Minerva Punjab" or "Punjab FC". These were the names of the club after they rebranded from Minerva Academy around 2016 (see the source here). The club was bought by RoundGlass in 2020 and rebranded (see the first source). Recently, this article was moved to Minerva Academy since a club of that name is now participating in the Punjab Super League. This club, however, is not the same as the one referenced in this article and is just the old academy being run by the old owner. This is actually referenced in the first source from The Hindu when the club's former owner says "he will now focus on the grassroot and youth development at his Minerva Academy". So the academy still exists but this article was never about the academy but the senior club which is now RoundGlass. The academy is not notable in itself as it wouldn't pass WP:GNG and it hasn't participated in a national level tournament in India. ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:23, 11 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

the new official name of the club participating in I-League is "RoundGlass Punjab FC". Idk why it is renamed with its previous old name Imsamrat392 (talk) 20:28, 12 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

see new club by minerva so even third page can be made, if academy needs own:

Neither of those two sides (the academy and Delhi FC) play in a national level league. They wouldn't be notable. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 20:03, 15 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
delhi is in division 2 qualifiers, more examples of teams out of aiff with pages made. also, if discussion is over remove minerva title from punjab page.
Really? Do we have a source? I must have missed this. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
But we do use sponsored names for clubs (see e.g, those in China/Korea, and also the various Red Bulls) - just not for stadiums, leagues, or cups etc. GiantSnowman 09:34, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Agree with GS here. RoundGlass, unfortunately IMO, is in the official name for RoundGlass Punjab and should be used accordingly. It would be like removing ONGC from ONGC F.C., which would just be weird. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Coderzombie: I would say no. RG isn't the title sponsor. It's the name of the team only.  Saha ❯❯❯ Stay safe  16:35, 20 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support : RoundGlass Punjab FC and Minerva Academy FC are two different clubs the one which was playing I league with name previously Minerva Punjab FC and recently only Punjab FC is the RoundGlass Punjab FC

However Minerva Academy FC is the academy based in Punjab owned by ranjit Bajaj which has nothing to do with the previous club Punjab FC and now Round glass punjab fc Bharat0078 (talk) 09:16, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Support: Minerva Punjab FC →(50% shares bought by RoundGlass)→→ Punjab FC →(100% shares bought by RoundGlass)→→ RG Punjab FC. Today, the Minerva owned by Ranjit Bajaj is a football academy and has other sports. Both are separate entities now.  Saha ❯❯❯ Stay safe  07:41, 20 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

See all social media bio where minerva claiming titles under own logo, rg punjab is sold and made all new entity. minerva page should be remade!

Comment: No, it shouldn't. This is a continuation of the previous club. It was bought and sold, not restarted. All reliable sources so far point towards that. Ranjit has an academy under Minerva and started Delhi FC. That club isn't notable yet though until they actually qualify for the I-League 2nd Division. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:38, 24 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
