Alright, so the issue is regarding three articles, Saathiya – Pyar ka Naya Ehsaas, Saathiya (TV series) and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. The first article (Saathiya – Pyar ka Naya Ehsaas) was a 2004 TV series which was exclusively known by its full name, and should thus be located at "Saathiya – Pyar ka Naya Ehsaas". The third article (Saath Nibhaana Saathiya) is an extremely popular 2011 series which people call "Saathiya" and thus should be known as "Saathiya (TV series)". I had moved these yesterday, but Survir (talk · contribs) moved 'em back, saying that the first serial is referred to as Saathiya. If this was the case, a Google seach would atleast mention the 2004 serial somewhere. Yes, it refers to the Star Plus series as "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" but even the network refers to the serial as "Saathiya" without "Saath Nibhaana" (logo; translation). Following a note at my talk page, I have temporarily created a disambiguation page for the TV series. I have no opinion on what the ultimate outcome should be, but this is a matter that should be settled through conversation, just as all disputes should be settled through conversation. Each of you running to different admins to request favors is not the way to go. :) Please see Wikipedia:Requested moves for some suggestions about how to conduct that conversation.
I will suggest that if either one of these shows winds up at Saathiya (TV series), that page might include a hatnote that refers to the other. Our main goal here is to make content easy to find for our readers. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:33, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hello Avenue X at Cicero. First of all, I want to thank you for your contributions to articles related to Indian television. Now, to add to your comments, the earlier series was known as Saathiya without the tagline. I was in India at the time it was released and Sahara One was promoting it on Billboards pretty much allover (especially in Bus Stands and Railway Stations), and most of the posters did not even had the tagline. In addition, to search on Google search engine, you have to type Saathiya Sahara One, because there was a 2002 Bollywood movie with the same title, Saathiya. Some links include: [1], [2], and so on. Almost majority of the Indian television series' aired prior to 2005, they were not heavily promoted on Internet; therefore, it is a little difficult to find articles about them on the Net.
Moreover, you can also listen to the title songs of both series' available on YouTube (the title song uses the full title for Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, and only Saathiya for the Sahara One series). Additional sources include the official websites of the series on STAR Plus India, STAR Plus USA, and all the other Forum sites related to the series. Thus, the STAR Plus series should be known by its full title and the Sahara One series should be known as Saathiya (TV series).
To make it easier for users' to search I have created a disambig page for Saathiya, which links all articles begin with the title Saathiya (these include both of the television series'). Thus, the Sahara One series page should be moved to Saathiya (TV series). Thank you! Survir (talk) 03:06, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, in a such a case, I would propose that we name the Sahara One article Saathiya (Sahara One TV series) and the Star Plus one Saathiya (Star Plus TV series). What say? Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 16:02, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the response! I believe that (TV series) should be used if the title contains a tagline (that too is only needed if there is another article in Wikipedia exists with that particular title, e.g. Basera, etc...). Otherwise, the full title should be used. There are many other Indian television series' that are referred to as with their short names; however, the wikipedia articles should have their full names used. In this case, if the STAR Plus series' title would only be Saathiya or would have a tagline, then Saathiya (Star Plus TV series) or even Saathiya (Star Plus) would been appropriate. Now, I propose that Star Plus series be known with its full name; however, you can add a REDIRECT link, Saathiya (Star Plus TV series). This will also bring any user who is searching for this series to the correct page. Moreover, the user Moonriddengirl have also created a disambig page Saathiya (TV series) which includes both of the television series'. No offense, but please do consider this. Thank you! I just want to note that I created that disambiguation page only to make sure that our readers could find both articles while you discuss this. It is not meant to express any opinion as to which page I think should belong where or even that I think the disambiguation page is the right approach. If you guys decide the disambiguation page is a good idea, that's fine. If you don't, I'll delete it once you've worked out what goes where. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:15, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
