Saara Deva (Actress) → Saara Deva – There is only one Saara Deva on English language wikipedia, so there's no need for '(Actress)' Icarusgeek (talk) 11:56, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

Saara Deva → Saipriya Deva – Jubairismail 5 believes that "Saipriya Deva" is the real name and tried to move the page twice but the move got reverted twice. The name thus requires discussion here at RM. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 21:21, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- Comment: I would suggest that Jubairismail 5 review WP:COMMONNAME, as that's the policy that governs article naming here. It may be true that Saipriya Deva is Saara Deva's "real" name, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the name we'll use for our article about her. Per WP:COMMONNAME:
Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)

- Oppose - the sources used in the article call her Saara Deva as does [1]. A Google search for "Saipriya Deva" does not return anything that looks like a reliable source. — Amakuru (talk) 10:06, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, at least for now. As Amakuru says, nearly all reliable sources refer to her as "Saara Deva". This twitter account, which appears to be hers, was renamed from @SaaraDeva to @saipriya_deva at some point not too long ago. (Google has tons of old hits in its cache showing @SaaraDeva, and they all redirect to the @saipriya_deva account now. There is currently no @SaaraDeva on Twitter.) So, there is the possibility that she's seeking to be recognized under the name Saipriya Deva. But, that Twitter account isn't even marked official, so there's no way to know it's really her. And regardless, she'd need to be successful in establishing her new Common Name among reliable sources, before we'd rename our article to reflect that change. Perhaps a rename will be warranted in the future, but at this stage "Saara Deva" appears to be the correct Common Name for the subject. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 12:12, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

- @FeRDNYC and Amakuru: Both of you have opposed the move back in November 2018. Do you still oppose the move now, or would you now support the move with new information that did not exist four years ago? GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 14:15, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support. It appears that RS have now shifted to the proposed name, so no probs with this one now. — Amakuru (talk) 08:02, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Most recent sources use Saipriya Deva -- Ab207 (talk) 16:57, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
