Sam Day (rugby player) → Sam Day (rugby league) – moved away from the MOS naming convention for rugby league footballers Fleets (talk) 16:21, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

- @Fleets, 2pou, and DA1: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 14:51, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Fleets: Could you point to the MOS you refer to? WP:NCSP#Rugby suggests that (rugby player) is acceptable, and seems to make sense grammatically per the original move summary. The naming convention seems to suggest that even (rugby) alone would be acceptable since there is no other rugby-related topic at Sam Day. -2pou (talk) 18:18, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Sam Day plays rugby league; rugby is rugby union, rugby footballer is rugby union, rugby player is rugby union.Fleets (talk) 19:30, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support @2pou: Rugby Union and Rugby League are two different sports. Even though "(rugby player)" is acceptable for both per that link, I do agree that "(rugby league)" would be better given that there's an Sam Day (Australian rules footballer), and the disambiguation specifies the football codes in full. –DA1 (talk) 13:48, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom. We use the specific code name to disambiguate rugby players, or simply "rugby" if they play both. We do not generally tack "player" on the end. See Category:English rugby league players. -- Necrothesp (talk) 00:20, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
