Supernatural cast?

Okay, raise your hand if you thought "Supernatural cast" was a good idea. Never mind, I found it here. It was added by 27.58.25.231 in April 2016. Surely we're not to believe that there are actual ghosts and vampire actors performing roles on this series. So that leaves me to believe that we're talking about supernatural characters, in which case, the sections are irritatingly mislabeled. Per MOS:TV we have a few options: 1) List by cast, or 2) List by characters. Either way we only care about Main cast/characters or Recurring cast/characters. Even if you wanted to go with a character list, there is no specific reason to subdivide that list into a list of supernatural characters. Each character should be accompanied by a brief description, which would make it clear who the supernatural characters are. "Former cast" is not a cast division that appears in regular TV articles. Clarification needed

In this edit I attempted to clean up some of the weird parentheticals in the Cast section. I'll never understand why parentheticals are used instead of regular ol' sentences, but sentences should be used. There are some issues in need of clarification. We have random phrases like "Chand's (moon) Mani" Non-Hindi speakers have no idea what this means. I happen to know that chand = moon, but that still doesn't explain what Moon's Mani means, or how it relates to the character. We are missing context. Contributors seem to be taking for granted that only Hindi-speakers would read this article, but this is the English Wikipedia, and sufficient context must be presented. Since there is an element of the supernatural in the series, I imagine it has something to do with that, but if that's the case, it needs to be explained properly in English before we add the Hindi equivalent. For instance, if the character is a angel or something:

Vindhya Tiwari as Chandramani/Chanda Prem Bharadwaj – Chandramani periodically transforms into an angel of light. Her name, Chandramani means Moon Jewel in English.

Obviously that's just me guessing, but my point is that context needs to be included for our global readership. Imagine if you were unfamiliar with Mexican entertainment and you came across:

Roberto Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito) (Little Shakespeare) as El Chavo (Lad)

You'd be scratching your head wondering what the hell any of that meant. Does Chavo mean Lad? Is Little Shakespeare a character he plays or a nickname? What's Chespirito? Same thing here. We need clarity. There's also the issue of the slashes. Why are there two names separated by a slash for Tiwari? Are these two unique roles, or two personalities she plays? Or just the name and nickname for one person? More thought needs to go into how this is conveyed. Also, per WP:SLASH we need to avoid slashes. Thanks.

Other stuff in need of clarification: "Simar's opponent at Hong Kong". What does this mean? By "Hong Kong" do we mean the country? If so, it's unclear why someone would have an opponent in a country. Typically we have opponents in sports matches or other competitions. Is it a company? Again, we're lacking context. It's just words stuffed together. If there was some more information, it would be more clear: "Simar's rival at XYZ corporation after Simar moves to Hong Kong". There's a difference. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:09, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Cast order and interpretive labels

The cast section is a hot mess. Per WP:TVPLOT new cast should be added at the bottom of the list. So if a new cast member is added to the Main cast, they belong at the bottom of the list. We have cast members indicated as beginning in 2016 at the top of the list, and people who left toward the bottom. That's the opposite of what should happen. Older cast on top.

And, in this edit I had to remove the massive interpretive labels "antagonist", "protagonist", "main female lead", etc. See WP:ANTAGONIST. These labels are interpretive and don't belong in articles because they represent original research. If a character is part of the Main cast section, it can be inferred that they are "main". We don't need to tell readers who the males and females are. And as for antagonist/protagonist, community consensus eschews these labels (as interpretive, as I just said). If readers were writing clear character descriptions, it would be obvious who the antagonists are. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:27, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Vandalism of this article

This article has suffered a lot of disruptive edits, especially to the plot summary section. Unfortunately they are overlapping and mixed up with legitimate edits, and as the article is under-referenced to begin with, it needs the attention of someone who actually knows something about the subject to clear it up. Arbitrary "longest running" records

@Sheena Dwivedi: in this edit, I removed the claims I believe you've added multiple times, including here and here in part because I believe it just takes a promotional shape, because everything is a record if you set the goalposts close enough away, (which is what "eighth longest-running Indian television series" does) and the reference used doesn't actually make a claim of any significant records being crossed, it only notes the number of episodes. Readers would have to extrapolate by looking at the poorly-sourced article List of longest-running Indian television series that these records were legit, but we absolutely can't use Wikipedia as a reference per WP:UGC, because it is user-generated. Since you're relying very heavily on the huge wikilink to "eighth longest-running Indian television series" as a source, the content is just not properly supported at all.
