Links to nonexistent articles in other Wikipedias
editThe very first version of this article, by Artsojourner, had eight links to "Sean Slemon" in Wikipedias of various languages (Czech, German, etc.). They lasted till a few minutes ago, when I clicked on them and found that every one of them led to an "article does not exist" page. I don't know why they were made. Anyway, I've just now deleted the lot.
This deletion felt strangely familiar. -- Hoary (talk) 05:52, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Quote by Coffelt
editHere's what the article told us:
- * "He gains insight through these pre-existing information sources that posits imaginary boundaries and artificial aesthetic concerns assimilating ways to invoke viewer response." -[[Jon Coffelt]] [http://www.schedlerminchin.com/events.asp?ac=ind&event=7936]
I found that hard to parse. "Posits", with an "s" on the end: So it's not "these [which?] pre-existing information sources" but his insight that posits this and that. Boundaries aside, his insight posits artificial [in contradistinction to naturally occurring?] aesthetic concerns assimilating ways [which ways?] -- I gave up.
There's no point quoting something that's so obscure (or just so badly written).
I clicked on the link. The linked page doesn't even mention Slemon. The same page was given as the "source" for another assertion about Slemon. I removed that too. -- Hoary (talk) 02:21, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Notable enough to Keep?
editDoes this page qualify for Wikipedia? Does it meet the notablility requirements? SM Sophiahounslow (talk) 09:00, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Actually, ignore my last comment - this does look notable enough. Sophiahounslow (talk) 09:02, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
