Hello, we are Steve, Dan, and Rehan from Cornell University, editing this article for our Online Communities course.
This article was the subject of an educational assignment in Fall 2013. Further details were available on the "Education Program:Cornell University/Online Communities (Fall 2013)" page, which is now unavailable on the wiki. |
1. We believe that Seth Curry is an upcoming NBA player and would like expand the information on his page.
2. We would like to change the format of the page by making the following changes:
2a. Adding tables under the sections High School, College, and NBA with his statistics; rather than just listing them in paragraph form.
- Don't remove what's in the paragraph, but yes, sure, add tables (but not for NBA, as he hasn't played professional yet). DaHuzyBru (talk) 03:52, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
3. We would like to add a picture to his biographical information on the right side of the page, as well as fact check to make sure that all of his personal information is correct.
- Would be great to add a photo, but please be sure it is a free image, otherwise that would be copyright infringement. See this section for help and guidelines. Rikster2 (talk) 12:57, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
4. Provide an update on Seth’s training camp performance.
5. Add more information in his personal section; including family and sports influences.

Splash Brothers
editAn editor reinserted text that Curry and Mychel Thompsoon were "dubbed the Splash Brothers of the D-League". There is no such mention in the reference cited. I suppose the part about them being teammates with Santa Cruz and their brothers being called the Splash Brothers can remain, but it seems trivial.—Bagumba (talk) 23:06, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- It's definitely trivial, and while it was cool that respective brothers were on the same affiliated teams, it's not really on a noted level as it was just a ploy by the D-League. However, the linked highlights in that article [1] does mention "Splash Brothers" in the title and the phrase is said throughout the video by the commentators. I wouldn't go into detail about it but I also wouldn't argue against it, because obviously they were going to be dubbed that due to the circumstances. DaHuzyBru (talk) 04:34, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- "throughout the video" is a bit inaccurate; i heard it maybe twice, including what was likely a Twitter promo for #scsplashbothers. I have no idea who the commentators are, but are presumably for Santa Cruz. It's kinda WP:OR to watch the video and judge that they were "dubbed" something. We have no idea how common this is; if we knew who this was, it should at best be attributed specifically to that announcer in addition to providing the citation. Without sources that talk the frequency of its usage, it is misleading to make such general statements.—Bagumba (talk) 05:58, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Look, don't get me wrong, I'm on your side. I'm just saying, they were destined to have the name SC Splash Brothers placed on them every now and then by the public and fans due to have corresponding brothers at GS. I'm all up for removing it, and I would agree it's misleading. But a quick google search of "SC Splash Brothers" does get a few hits i.e. this that states "to form a D-League version of the "Splash Brothers"." So perhaps it was just a Santa Cruz thing, and not a league or well-known nickname. DaHuzyBru (talk) 06:35, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- And I have no problem if someone wants to present a wording that is verifiable, but "dubbed the Splash Brothers of the D-League" was not. Also, the link you provided was from SB Nation, generally not considered reliable i.e. a fan site anyone can edit. Any reason goldenstateofmind.com should be an exemption?—Bagumba (talk) 06:45, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not saying it is, just once again pointing out that it is a "thing". This is pointless bickering now, it's User:Plot Spoiler's turn. I've had enough. DaHuzyBru (talk) 08:45, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Correction needed
editSeth Curry went to Davidson College in NC 2601:483:982:E960:28E3:85BD:2E:E7A9 (talk) 04:08, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- @2601:483:982:E960:28E3:85BD:2E:E7A9: That was his brother, Stephen Curry. Seth's article clearly covers his time at both Liberty and Duke. --Bcschneider53 (talk) 14:26, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
