I corrected the misunderstanding regarding the number of Pillars, with some claiming there are eight. there are seven, the Shahadah is a foundation upon which the seven are built. (Water Stirs (talk) 13:25, 27 October 2008 (UTC))

"greater" and "lesser" jihad are only mentioned in one, obscure hadith that isn't even considered authentic by most. Furthermore, most, if not all references, to jihad in Islamic scripture are of the physical, violent kind. There are at least 109 verses in the Qur'an itself that call Muslims to fight non-Muslims.
Qur'an (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end." The word "strive" here being jihad, and this is just one of many quotes.

Are the 7 pillars of Ismaili and Mustaali the same as the 7 of Druze?
editI came to this page from the article on Ismaili and was surprised that the 7 pillars of Ismaili are not listed. Or rather, the word "Druze" in the list is confusing. Is this list actually the list of the Ismaili? or only of the Druze, and the other 'branches' have different lists? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 04:19, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Summary
editI noticed that the introduction to this article does not make it clear what it is all about. Could someone with the relevant knowledge provide a summary in the introduction?Markoff-Chaney (talk) 16:44, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
