Draft created after deletion review
edit@K.e.coffman and S Marshall: given this deletion review I'd appreciate extra eyes on the draft. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 14:45, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the invitation. I'm not sure that it's right to say Shaurya Doval is a politician? -- I think he's a businessman primarily, who's making early steps to break into politics. Let's say, charitably, that the sources seem to be about his political ambitions rather than his political achievements.—S Marshall T/C 16:11, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Hindustan Times | User:Winged Blades of Godric/Indian Media#Hindustan Times casts a little doubt, but this piece seems perfectly reliable - the same is reported in the other newspapers | A ten-paragraph news article entirely about Doval, giving secondary analysis and reactions on his stepping into party politics | ✔ Yes

Chandigarh University #1 | but WP:PRIMARY source | After Doval's speech, at 30 minutes in, the chancellor speaks of Doval in glowing terms but the description of his career and contribution to society is based on the same text used elsewhere, and may well have been provided, or at least reviewed by, Doval. | ✘ No
Chandigarh University #2 | but WP:PRIMARY source | confirms that the award was made, but otherwise is Doval expressing his own opinions | ✘ No

I have assessed that the subject passes WP:GNG due to significant and sustained coverage (2017-2020) in multiple reliable, independent publications. The draft was rewritten from the previous ones that were deleted and I don't think any content in this version is promotional. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 20:29, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Another respected AfC reviewer Timtrent has provided his view on this analysis. Aside from the sources we agree on, he made the following observations:
- He disagreed that The Wire #1 was SIGCOV - more about the foundation rather than the man
- He disagreed that Indian Express #1 was SIGCOV - too speculative
- He disagreed that Jansatta #1 was sigcov
- Hindustan Times - uncertain
- The Caravan - more about his brother
- Indian Express #4 - too much of Doval's views

- @Curb Safe Charmer I'm grateful for your concise summary. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 20:33, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- My full commentary may be found in this permalink should anyone wish to examine my thinking further. As I say there,
I do not pretend to be correct. I just have my opinion to go on when comparing the references with what I believe we need to show that the article should be kept.

Remove speedy
editI removed the speedy, given that the article has come through the draft process and the other comments and reviews on the talk page. This subject does not qualify for WP:G4. Jeepday (talk) 11:58, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
It has also been at AFD at least two times. Including just last month and been deleted each time. THis article should be deleted and SALTED....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 12:05, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Dear William Yes, it was deleted previously. But then, after discussions with other Wikipedians, I was asked to write a draft which would be closely assessed. If you could read the talk page and the 2nd Deletion Nomination, you can find out the details. Ht24 (talk) 12:09, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Contested deletion
editPlease share the reason for putting a speedy deletion tag on this article. I tried to write this as per the instructions from various Wikipedia editors and was approved by Curb Safe Charmer. He helped me understand Wikipedia policies and the rules to follow for drafting a new article.
Please read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Shaurya_Doval. Thanks! Ht24 (talk) 12:00, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
Media scrutiny
editI've reinstated the following statement made in the lead section after Nolopassaro99 had deleted it: "Doval and his organisation have attracted media scrutiny due to their growing influence, opaque funding and ties to some of India cabinet ministers." I have added two references to support the statement, per the WP:MINREF and MOS:CITELEAD guidelines. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:51, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah Al Saud
edit@Kunal9584: please explain your repeated removal of the statement "Torch Investment (previously known as Zeus Caps), a company chaired by Saudi Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah Al Saud." from the article? It is cited to Torch Investment's website, which clearly shows the prince as a member of the supervisory board. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:43, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
