This is a comment. Sheila E's album "The Glamorous Life" has Prince all in it. He used the name "Jamie Starr" or "The Starr Company". He was ghost writing.

I've removed a nonsense comment that was inserted in her stage name. Henchperson 06:23, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistent Pete Escovedo references

edit

This article says that Pete Escovedo is Sheila E's father, but the Nicole Ritchie article says he's her brother - which is correct? Rodparkes 10:31, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The link for Alejandro Escovedo is wrong too: The linked Alejandro is her cousin, and I think that the Alejandro mentioned is a separate person.Donald Hosek 17:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could someone please fit the late Pedro Escovedo into the picture? Then straighten the whole bloody mess out, please.JBDay 01:11, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Work In Japan

edit

She toured with Namie Amuro in the late 90's, I've got a concert video she's in, and she appears on some of Namie's recorded stuff. She also worked with Tetsuya Komuro. But I don't know much more than that. RB30DE 00:20, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Drumsticks

edit

I recall seeing her perform (with Prince or by herself, I don't recall) on a music awards show several years ago (20, give or take). On the wikipedia page for "The Glamourous Life", it was mentioned that she used glow in the dark drumsticks on one such performance. On the show I saw, I recall her drumsticks changed colour, seemingly to the speed of the stick movement. Was I just imagining things?--WPaulB (talk) 17:41, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Peripheral mention in reference which should be deleted

edit

The "Belushi Will Finally Get Hollywood Star" article, referenced in this encyc entry, notes Sheila E. only as an aside in mention of her less famous brother. As such, it should be removed from the encyc entry, IMHO. Skaizun (talk) 16:17, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

When citing sources, the amount of coverage a topic receives in a citation is irrelevent, as long as the source is reliable and confirms the statement being cited. In this case it confirms that Pete Escovedo is the biological father of Nicole Richie, and therefore Sheila E. is Nicole Richie's aunt. Markfury3000 (talk) 15:37, 2 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can anyone update, please?

edit

This is in the article:

"2013 will bring Sheila's next solo CD, as well as an autobiography."

2013 is 3 years ago. Did the CD and book come out? What's she been doing since then? I don't know, but maybe one of you does. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:07, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Is this lead serious?

edit

What is Sheila E most famous for? Duke or Prince? so who is re-writing history? So why no mention of the most obvious thing in the lead. I see the same thing happening on her website page making me wonder if there is something going on. And NO, she is Not African American. --169.0.247.143 (talk) 17:25, 10 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sheila’s teenage years

edit

Why not include her musicality w her dad Pete as a teenager? The shows they performed were the best of the best - a child prodigy. Prince saw her perform then, fell in love w her and the rest is history! Read up on Prince- he’ll tell you that. The Escovedo family is the origin of her talent🙆🏾 2601:645:4100:EE:9C28:BA2E:B0E3:A9C8 (talk) 20:34, 14 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
