Drop in Popularity

Reception Review

Could you also review my change to the reception area. This is what I'm planing to write:

Nishiwaki Datto, felt that Shirou's relationship with Rin Tohsaka was the most unrealistic of the three relationships as it was unromantic and mediocre, as well as one-sided, stating that Rin is too controlling and would only hold Shirou back in the end. The writer further stated that it was these factors the had caused him to alter the storyline of the Fate/stay night manga to make it more like the Fate route, and make Saber the main heroine.

Writer Gen Urobuchi who has been involved in the making of series believes Saber's relationship with Shirou does not seem like a realistic relationship between a male and a female but a complicated relationship with a boy who became a girl. He further explains that it is not a relationship fueled by instinct like the relationship between a man and a woman but a romance of logic between two people who need each other from the heart. He thinks the Fate route could have been told as a story through the ancient Greek views on love. Urobuchi thinks the true heroine of Fate/stay night is Rin Tohsaka. He asserted that Shirou's relationship with Rin was the more realistic. The "Unlimited Blade Works" route depicts an equal relationship with a woman who becomes stronger than men. Rin and Shirou mend each other's weaknesses with their own unique strength. Also, Sakura's romance expresses the dark sides that women have, but Shirou's actions show that men can accept that and love them regardless. Nasu responded to Urobuchi by saying that it is difficult to call the relationship between Shirou and Saber a relationship between a man and a woman. Saber has fought for a long time as the ruler of Britain but then turned into a woman all of a sudden and fell in love with Shirou. Shirou's consistent desire to avoid having Saber fight for him represented his love. Nasu further added that while Rin is female, her characterization is highly different from Saber that Shirou would still fall for her.

Never heard of an analysis in character articles. Would be some sort of subsection for the reception section? Additionally, I wonder if we that section might need to be more division due to how many characterizations Shirou has gone through ever since the original visual novel. Both voice actor Kana Ueda and ReelRundown said Unlimited Blade Works makes Shirou's ideals of justice more interesting compared with those of his original depiction in Studio Deen's anime based on Fate especially because of their judgment by others and because Shirou obtains a resolve.

Below are some suggestions and comments about the "Critical reception" subsection of the "Cultural impact" section:

• I am a little confused by what this sentence (Reviewers also offered different ideas regarding Shirou's role in the film Unlimited Blade Works.) means. I am assuming that it is a topic sentence for the paragraph, but I do not know what is meant by "offered different ideas". Maybe something like (Reviewers also commented on Shirou's role in the film Unlimited Blade Works.) to simplify the sentence somewhat.
• I am not entirely sure what this sentence (The site also said Ufotable improved Shirou's characterization to the point they believed one was unlikable) means, specifically what the "one" is referencing. Could you clarify what is meant here?
• The third and fourth paragraphs both appear to be about Unlimited Blade Works, but I was wondering if you could explain how you have structured the fourth paragraph? Maybe you could find some trends or similar ideas in critical commentary on the character in the movie to make a little bit of a more cohesive narrative (for instance: the character's growth, his relationships with other characters, etc.). I could be wrong, and this part could be completely fine as it stands currently, but this is the part where I become a little lost on what the central ideas was.
• I am uncertain about how to include the removed text back into the article, though I would suggest looking through GAs and FAs on fictional characters to see if any of them include a "Character analysis" section or something similar to use as a model. I would think that it could even be incorporated into the article as a "Relationships" subsection (since that seems to be the primary focus on the removed text), but that is just a random idea.

Overall, these are my primary points. I have only focused on the prose, and I have not check any of the sources for accuracy or the like. I hope this helps somewhat. I tried rearranging some parts, combining the Unlimited Blade Works since I realized many writers praised both Shirou and Archer's relationship. I have no idea what is the main image we could use. Would Takahashi's artwork from the 2004 visual novel be considered dated? There are also two anime images with him dualwielding his swords based on Unliminted Blade Works and Oath Under Snow but I'm not sure which might be the best choice. • I only have two comments relating to the cultural impact section:
  • The Popularity section could be revised a bit to avoid WP:PROSELINE. For example, "In a poll containing male anime characters conducted by Anime News Network, he took both the 9th and 10th spots. In a Newtype poll, Shirou was voted the eighth-most-popular male anime character from the 2010s" could be simplified into "Polls conducted by Anime News Network and Newtype found Shirou among the ten most popular male anime characters."
  • I'd revise the Critical reception section a bit to better align with WP:RECEPTION, which would include paraphrasing quotes and avoiding the "A said B"/"A of B said C" structure.
• I'm going to refrain from making comments on the Characteristics and Appearances sections because I'm not really well-versed in the subject matter. However, I will if you'd like me to (I'm watching the page so you don't need to ping me). Overall here I'd recommend making sure a reader who doesn't know anything about Fate/stay night would be able to understand (e.g. who/what characters/events/concepts are).

There are already multiple focused on every route from the visual novel, the anime adaptations, the spinoffs, etc. Is there really something this article miss?
