WP:TRIVIA
editPlease keep in mind that most Iranians have an Azeri grandparent or great grandparent, but this is the very definition WP:TRIVIA, which does not belong on the biography of a living person. The subject identifies herself as an American and Iranian, clearly stating that I feel that I am an Iranian and an American. But the Iranian side seems to be at my core, because the first 10 years of your life shapes who you are[1]. If this silly nationalistic edit-war to label the subject as an Azerbaijani continues, I`ll ask the subject to file a complaint with Wikipedia foundation. --Kurdo777 (talk) 23:24, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- this has nothing to do with WP:TRIVIA - please kindly re-read it. If most Iranians have an Azeri grandparent or great grandparent, as you write, that could be noted, too - why not? "Trivial" would be to emphasize that Ms. Rose is a woman, or wakes up and goes to sleep at regular hours, or eats 3 times a day, or has a regular driver's license, or is famous. But being predominantly ethnically Azeri is not trivial by any standard. Indeed, trying to remove very relevant and interesting biographical information about her ethnicity is, at least, WP:POV. --Goldorack (talk) 18:36, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- The person does not identify as an Azeri, and you have no reliable source that asserts she is an Azeri. Please stop your WP:OR, this is the biography of a living person. --Kurdo777 (talk) 19:28, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
the person does not need to identify herself as Azeri or American or anything, this is an encyclopedia, not autobiography, or a book written by anyone that can allow some specific POV. She is Azeri, which is clear to anyone who knows anything about not just her, but her father, Parviz Gharib-Afshar, a well known Azeri from Iran. It's NPOV and edit warring trying to remove this information, among other, from her article. --Goldorack (talk) 19:56, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Name at birth
editAre we sure her name at birth was not Shiva Rose Gharib-Afshar? Like her IMDB lists. The link in the citation doesn't seem to link to anything for me? Jooojay (talk) 23:10, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
