The release
Since The Bad Guys is releasing on April 15, 2022 and Puss in Boots 2 is set to release on September 23, 2022, is it just me or is the movie gonna release in 2023? EverestMachine 4001 (talk) 09:57, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- Its possible, but we need a firm news source stating that Shrek 5 will miss its 2022 release date, for 2023. For now, until we can find this news website, the page's info should remain unchanged. Cardei012597 (talk) 19:14, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Missed release dates
I know that the film missed the previous official release years of 2019[1] and 2020,[2] and Screen Rant's rumored release year of 2022[3] and Collider's rumored release date of May 20, 2023.[4] Currently there are no reliable sources about when the film would actually be released. I think we are going to have to leave this draft alone until Universal and DreamWorks Animation officially announce the story, the cast and crew, the title and the release date.

Unconfirmed name
It's not really a good idea to call this article "Shrek 5" when we don't even know what the next film will be titled. Especially since the last two sequels weren't numbered. SuperWikiBrother (talk) 15:17, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
Release Date
A release of untitled fifth Shrek film will be 2026 or 2027. Shrek 5 isn't expected to premiere until 2026 or 2027. Shrek won't released until 2026 or 2027. 68.194.138.254 (talk) 22:49, 12 March 2024 (UTC)

Walt Dohrn is still directing the film
As far as I'm aware, the director is still alive and any edits made about him "directed" the film is factually incorrect. The sources I've checked is definitely not the director. Any edits which changes the livimg status or puts the directing in past tense shall be reverted. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 13:53, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, every one of these edits stating that Dohrn "directed" the film "before his passing" is from an IP vandal. I requested semi-protection a while ago because of this, but it only lasted for a few days before the vandalism started again. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 17:33, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
