The result of the move request was: Moved Shyama to Shyama (Hindi actress), Shyama (actress) to Shyama (Malayalam actress) and put a disambiguation page at Shyama.(closed by non-admin page mover) Niceguyedc (talk) 06:54, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
– The latter is not adequately disambiguated from the former, who is also an actress. Both people are of Indian nationality, so disambiguation by country is not an option, but we do not have the birth date for the second Shyama. The base title would become a disambiguation page if the first Shyama is not the primary topic. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 23:48, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Support Shyama → Shyama (actress, born 1935) per nomination. Would also support Shyama (actress) → Shyama (actress, died 1996) or Shyama (actress) → Shyama (Malayalam actress), depending upon consensus. Would additionally support creation of the Shyama disambiguation page that would list Shyama (Jain monk), Shyama (actress, born 1935), Shyama (actress, died 1996) and "See also" for actress Shama Dulari. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:37, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Roman Spinner: Shouldn't we then use Shyama (actress, died 2017) for the first article? –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 22:10, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
- @LaundryPizza03: Since the standard Wikipedia form is Shyama (actress, born 1935) and the form Shyama (actress, died 1996) is only used when the birth year is not available, it would not be appropriate to propose the form Shyama (actress, died 2017) simply as an analogously matching form for Shyama (actress, died 1996). However, in the event of a consensus for my proposal of the alternative form — Shyama (actress) → Shyama (Malayalam actress), a proposal might be also submitted for the analogously matching form — Shyama → Shyama (Hindi actress) per Manorama (Hindi actress) and Manorama (Tamil actress). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 05:15, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

- Move: Shyama → Shyama (Hindi actress) and Shyama (actress) → Shyama (Malayalam actress). Indian actors are commonly disambiguated with language as an additional qualifier (Eg. Krishna (Telugu actor), Krishna (Tamil actor), Krishna (Malayalam actor), Krishna (Kannada actor)). It's far more intuitive and recognizable than mentioning years. WP:NCPDAB discourages using birth year which should be a last resort. -- Ab207 (talk) 05:47, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
