Overview:

It is a newly formed district of Madhya Pradesh state.It is formed by dividing Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. Singrauli district consists of three tehsils named as Singrauli, Deosar and Chitrangi. Singrauli has got its own Municipal Corporation. It is district head-quarter and largest city in the district. It is situated on the bank of Rihand Dam adjoing the Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. Dam is situated partially in Madhya Pradesh and partially in Uttar Pradesh. Local people call it Urjadhani, it means "capital of energy"; because it has coal mines and power plants. It produces considerable amount of power and fuel in the country. It is strategically suitable location for power plants and contributes to 2/3 of the total power generation of Madhya Pradesh. Waidhan is the centre of Singrauli City having major government offices, hotels, cab services. It is well connected with all the big industries. It could be ideal location for the visitors to stay. Waidhan Bus Stand has direct bus service to Mada Caves which tourist may be interested in.

Connectivity:

It has four Bus Stands. One is Waidhan which is largest. Second is Morwa followed by Vindhyanagar and Amlori. It is well connect with many cities of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh by road netwok. National Highway (from Rewa to Rnchi) is passing through Singrauli by touching the Waidhan Bus Stand. It is well connected with Sidhi, Rewa (265 KM), Satna in Madhya Pradesh by road. They have direct bus service from Morwa and Waidhan Bus Stands. Robertsganj, Varanasi (200 KM), Mirzapur (200 KM), Allahabad (300 KM), Lucknow (500 KM), Gorakhpur, Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh are well connected by road. They have direct bus service from Waidhan, Vindhyanagar, Amlori Bus Stands. Shaktinagar Bus Stand of Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pardsh situated at the border also provide direct bus service to different locations of Uttar Pradesh. Almost all the buses to Uttar Pradesh pass through Shaktinagar Bus Stand. Shanktinagar Bus Stand can be reached by Auto Riksha and local bus services.

It has one Railway Station having name Singrauli. It is situated at approximately 4 KM from Morwa, 20 KM from Amlori, 30 KM from Waidhan, 20 KM from Vindhyanagar Bus Stands. It is well connected with Waidhan Bus Stand through local buses. Cabs can be good options over this area. It has direct train connectivity with Bhopal (684 KM), Bina, Sagar, Damoh, Katni (260 KM), Jabalpur (352 KM)in Madhya Pradesh. It has direct train connectivity with Renukut, Chopan, Robertsganj, Mirzapur, Allahabad (300 KM), Lucknow (500 KM), Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. It has direct train connectivity with Howrah, Asansol, Dhanbad in West Bangal. It has direct train connectivity with Patna and Gaya in Bihar. It has direct train connectivity with Garwa, Barkakana, Chandrapura (Bokaro) in Jharkhand. Shaktinagar is also having a railway station providing direct train to Chopan, Robertsganj, Mirzapur (200 KM), Allahabad (300 KM), Lucknow (500 KM), Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. For going to Delhi traveler can board direct train from Renukut in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. Renukut is approximately 50 KM from Shaktinagr and 65 KM from Waidhan Bus Stands. Direct Bus Service to Renukut is available from Shanktinagar, Waidhan, Amlori and Vindhyanagar Bus Stands. Alternatively traveler can reach Allahabad and change the train for Delhi. Alternatively, traveler can reach Katni/ Katni Murwara and change the train for Delhi. For going to Bhopal/ Indore/ Mumbai/ Pune/ Nagpur/ Chennai/ Hyderabad/ Bangalore/Ahmedabad/ Bilaspur/ Durg, traveler can got to Katni/ Katni Murwara/ Jabalpur and change the train from there. Traveler can choose a weekly direct train to Bhopal.

Nearest airport is Varanasi (200 KM) in Uttar Pradesh which can be reached by road. Allahabd Airport(300 KM)can also be used. One can wse rail or road to reach Allahabad. Jabalpur (352 KM) third nearest airport and it can be reached by train.

It is new city and it has diverse culture because people from different parts of the county came for livelihood, and contributing to cultural diversity.

Keep to the topic

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia - we need to keep info encyclopedic and to the topic. Lists of medical facilities, banks, mobile phone operators, (I actually find these quite amusing, maybe the belong to wikitravel) educational institutions in the town do not belong on the wikipedia article.
