Although the word "Sonagachi" translates easily into "Golden Tree" in Bangla; most probably the name of the red light district in Kolkata (India) is derived from "Sona Gazi" a person whose "mazar" or grave is present at the end of one of the lanes that runs through the district.Amitrajit 11:32, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
