For one of tha largest schools in Asia... this one sure lags behind in IT awareness. Doesn't even have its own website. 220.227.77.169 07:32, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is a alumni website: http://www.southpointers.com/ 140.90.131.108 17:30, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It recently launched its own website [[1]]

Though I admit the school is pathetic, I think we should improve the article. Pmlinediter (talk) 12:33, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

This Entry is just an Advertisement!

edit

This post just looks like an advertisement and nothing else. This surely does not match Wiki's standards and I think the entire entry needs to be edited. Being an ex-Pointer myself, I know the ills and devils of the school. It has plenty of shortcomings and a whole Wiki entry can be written on them!

There are teachers who are extremely ill-equipped when it comes to knowledge, not to mention abusive as well, even at the Plus 2 level. I would not want to take names but this school has certainly become a business center with teachers teaching lesser and lesser in classrooms and more and more in their private tuitions. Besides, certain teachers are way over-rated. Some of them can't even finish the entire syllabus of a small part of a paper in two years!

Besides, why are these two names, "Suman Gangopadhayay,IT Professional" and "Rishin Banerjee,Bharti Realty", in the "Noted Alumni" section?? Who are they? No notable search result comes up on Googling their names. So also for a few others, but I think these two names certainly cannot be listed in a Noted Alumni section.

Just to exemplify the comically blatant advertisement of the school.Boygamer10 (talk) 10:03, 26 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Comically blatant advertisement.

Stick to Wikipedia

edit

This is not a forum for criticizing or praising the school. We are not here to pass judgement on the school. Wikipedia is not a social networking site. This talk page is to discuss problems related to the article and how best it can be improved. And the school does have a website, [click here]. All one needed to do was google. I am an ex-pointer, proud of my school and hell bent on making this article neutral and try to make it GA status. If anybody wishes to help, I would love it, but please don't use this page for chit chat on opinions of the school. It might be a bit difficult, but do assume good faith through my words. --Debastein (talk) 22:15, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Stop self-advertisements

edit

Please stop using the "noted alumni" section as a road side banner. If you need to put in a name, please discuss it here first. Sarindam7 (talk) 17:24, 19 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

If there are too many links that make the article look clumsy, maybe we can make a list in another article as Noted Alumni of South Point School (India). But currently, its best to keep this list short. Do we have enough to make a separate list? --Debastein (talk) 06:58, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I suggest to keep only those name for which we have article in Wikipedia– no red links, no plain text entry! --Tito Dutta 14:55, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Second that. Its reduced to a silly ad campaign. Appeal to self-noted alumni not to embellish. Sarindam7 13:16, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Notable alumni notability!

edit

See this discussion (consensus). All red-link/no-wiki-link entries should be sourced, otherwise they may be removed! --Tito Dutta 23:49, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Long time, no response, I have removed few entries! These can be re-added if Wiki-articles are created or reliable sources are provided! --Tito Dutta (talk) 03:48, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

More red-linked alumni removed and page semi-protected. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 23:35, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't Match Wiki's Standards

edit

The article is poorly edited and contains a lot of uncited information. Also, the Notable Alumni section is misused by the alumni for self-advertisement. Denji's-Pet (talk) 16:27, 5 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
