Statement about writer's strike

edit

This change is mine. I removed the statement about the writer's strike because the attached reference did not mention anything about the original release date. A quick Google search did not yield any other sources that could confirm this fact, so I deleted the statement and moved the reference to the statement of the current release date. --Beefyt (talk) 00:07, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Quotes

edit

Why can't we put the quotes?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.47.88.195 (talk) 21:02, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Three reasons: A. It's stupid. B. It's unencyclopedic. C. That's exactly what "Wikiquote" was created for. -- Jasonbres (talk) 22:42, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trivia

edit

The trivia section only has one item and has been removed once. I reverted but with a note that the section should be expanded and not presented as a list. --FilmFan69 (talk) 01:51, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

It has been taken care of and fixed in a relatively clean way. Fenrir-of-the-Shadows (talk) 08:15, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • The film's opening features the iconic piece Also Sprach Zarathustra as Ham's noble ancestry is being described.
  • When the inhabitants of the planet Malgor (as mentioned in the film) do not know of Earth, Ham states one of its key achievements as iTunes.
  • On a "Simon" style intelligence test, Ham plays "Axel F".
  • While the crew members are being transported through the wormhole, Ham witnesses a portrayed "Star Gate" similar to the one in 2001: A Space Oddysey.
  • During a rant, Stanley Tucci's character mentions Buck Rogers, following with the statement "I love Buck Rogers!" by one of the NASA scientists.
  • On the alien planet where Zartog has taken control, he orders the construction of a structure resembling a Las Vegas casino he has seen on a video prepared by NASA.
  • Near the film's end, Titan asks Ham multiple questions including "Are you David Bowie?" in trying to convince him that he is an astronaut.
