St Joseph's College, CalcuttaSt. Joseph's College, Calcutta – The addition of the period after "St" would allow the page name to be grammatically correct as an abbreviation of Saint and also to conform to the syntax of similar names of Christian institutions. This is how the school officially writes its name on its website[1] and other official communications. It is also the more common way of writing the abbreviation for Saint in the locale of Kolkata. I believe MOS:GRAMMAR might be applicable here. Colonel440 (talk) 05:50, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. It's not grammatically correct at all. Grammatically correct would be "S't" to show what's been omitted. Putting the full stop at the end suggests it's a shortening of a longer word that begins with "St". "St" is far commoner in Commonwealth countries. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:56, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
