Concerns have been raised by Orange sticker about AI-generated content in this article. This is a procedural talk page section to discuss it. Gnomingstuff (talk) 03:42, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The page was created with some strange formatting choices that are glaringly out of place even to the eye of this amateur user. Wikipedia articles shouldn't include random bold text, which should go without saying. The asterisks in place in the "impact on victims" section seems to suggest it was copy-pasted from a list elsewhere (complete with bolded headlines as is the norm with AI), and since searching for the text shows only this article, it seems likely it comes from a private source such as an AI summary. In addition, citations 3 and 5 (to the Manchester Evening News and the Bolton News) go to 404 pages. Citation 4 (Greater Manchester Police) is used on a sentence (the first under "impact on victims") that is directly lifted from the article it links to, but doesn't quote it, and edits the quote on either side as if explaining the concept in it to the reader rather than simply presenting it. It seems obvious to me that the page was created with AI, or at least, was created at a standard below what I would typically expect from an article here.
