what is wrong with the person who wrote this?!?
editMy god this is the worst article I've read to date. Rewrite it, please, for god's sake. Everything reads like a fanboy's transcript you'd see on a craplousy anime forum.PsychoJosh 08:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
If it helps matters, I re-wrote it so it looks more professional. MightyKombat (talk) 22:18, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

I read the back of the box and it states that this is a prequal to the original Street Fighter Alpha movie, but is it really? To me it plays out more like a sequal.
- For one, Sakura and Ken have already met whereas in the first movie she meets Ken for the first time
- Sakura seemed well on his mission in this movie to find and fight Ryu however, in the first movie she only just became interested in Ryu after watching him assist Chun Li in stopping those thugs.
- The first movie ended with a cliffhanger of Ryu fighting Akuma, which seems to be the whole point of this movie. Why lead up to it at the end if they already fought?

Shen Long is not real
editi believe the monk to be non other than Retsu from Street Fighter 1 the first game, a Shorin ji Style Monk who was great friends with Gouken.
Ryu Recieved his red headband from Ken after recieving a injury from Ken during a sparring session; while still training together as teens. Street Fighter the Movie.
Shen Long is not a real character
edityes ive seen the movie on dvd, and Sheng Long is not real, as I stated before i believe its retsu a shorinji monk that was a good friend of goukens.
An yeah i think the movie sucked too.
And im pretty sure its neither a prequal or a sequal its just someone elses version of events (made by comlpetely differnt people and non of them were made by capcom.)
I believe capcomusa bought the Rights to street fighter from capcom japan so the future of street fighter looks dim.
Its like this...
edit^That old guy is NOT Retsu. He's a original character designed specificly for this movie, though his look is somewhat inspired by the shrine keeper from the SFA anime.
Note that none of the production arts, designs, credits, etc, list that character's name as Retsu.
And im pretty sure its neither a prequal or a sequal its just someone elses version of events (made by comlpetely differnt people and non of them were made by capcom.)
And yes it is just someone else's version of the SF storyline, just as the SFA anime was, however SF2: The Animated Movie was meant to be a prequel to the SF2 game, though never canon that was the animation studio's intention, and Capcom ended up liking the idea (and the movie itself) so much it inspired them to make the SFA games.
Finally, yeah Capcom of America does hold the SF rights. Capcom of Japan sold the rights to them, as they're aren't doing fighting games anymore, or rather saw no reason to have the rights anymore, but at least Capcom of America won't be making any SF games as Capcom of Japan just recently shut down Capcom Production Studio 8 (Maximo, Final Fight: Streetwise) which is/was Capcom of America's production studio. As for being "dim" yeah its probaly true that there will be a SF4 or whatever, but thats been obvious for sometime now.
B class assessment
editI've reassessed this as a stub. The B assessment was either wrong or a joke. BrokenSphereMsg me 17:45, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Did they watch this movie or what?
editHad to edit the story whoever wrote it didnt watch it. Goutetsu doesnt use Shun Gouku Satsu or even attempt to he was preparing a super hadouken when Akuma used the move on him. The reason he even says the name is he is surprised Akuma knows the most advanced technique of there style, which is forbidden. Akuma doesnt use it on Ryu either if he did Ryu would have been killed as he doesnt know how to empty his soul to stop it. Akuma uses a super Hadouken which he had used earlier in the battle as well but missed. Akuma doesnt use Shun Gouku Satsu on Ryu because he no longer feels he is equal to himself which is the only reason he uses it on an opponent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jlem1484 (talk • contribs) 20:00, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Animated?
editI can't tell if this movie was animated or a motion picture. Should probably be mentioned somewhere in the opening paragraph (or opening sentence even?).--Jeff79 (talk) 19:27, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
