Hey! I will start the review as soon as possible. Basilisk4u (talk) 15:48, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
Notes
edit- Lead
- "The song was described by Ne-Yo as being a "premonition,"[1] due to how it contains lyrics which are closely linked to an abusive relationship." --> "The lyrical content, which describes an abusive relationship, led Ne-Yo to describe the song as a "premonition".[1]
- Done Aaron • You Da One
- "Stupid in Love" is a pop and R&B power ballad. Instrumentation is provided by finger snapping, minor piano keys and piano riffs." I think these sentences should be combined as "Stupid in Love" is a pop and R&B power ballad featuring instrumentation provided by finger snapping, minor piano keys and piano riffs."
- Not done The instrumentation isn't a feature, which is what it sounds like with your suggestion. Aaron • You Da One
- I am not sure what you mean, I meant featured as in it is contained in the song. It will not affect the GA review though. Basilisk4u (talk) 15:02, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- "whereas other criticized it as being too dark and forgettable" --> "whereas others criticized it as being forgettable and overly dark"
- Done Aaron • You Da One
- Background
- "The song was recorded in 2009 at Metropolis Studios, London." When in 2009? Was it before or after the Chris Brown incident?
- I don't know. I know it was written a few days before the incident, but credits don't usually say the month. Aaron • You Da One
- "he did not think that it needed to be done" --> "he found it unnecessary"
- Done Aaron • You Da One
- Composition
- It might be helpful to include a music sample in this section.
- Okay. I'll get someone to do it. Aaron • You Da One
- "As noted by Rob Harvilla of The Village Voice, the bridge represents the moment when Rihanna realizes that it is not worth her while to stay in the relationship, writing "the dunce cap is off". Is that Harvilla himself writing that Rihanna's dunce cap is off, or is it a lyric from the song?
- Yes, it is a quotation. Aaron • You Da One
- A quotation from Harvilla or a quotation from the song? Clarify. Basilisk4u (talk) 15:03, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- Critical reception
- "Norman Mayers for Nu-Soul Magazine concurred with McCormick, writing that Rihanna does shy away from what happened between herself and Brown, rather, she confronts it directly on "Stupid in Love"." It should be "does not shy away"
- Done Aaron • You Da One
- I think you could begin the second paragraph of this section with a summary sentence, perhaps something along the lines of "The musical aspect of "Stupid in Love" was less well-received than the song's lyrical content."
- Both paragraphs don't need opening summaries. The second is simply a continuation of the first. Aaron • You Da One
- References
- Looks good :)
