Olympic coins from non-host nations?
editHello all,
This article focuses on coins issued by host countries. I know the US issued coins for the 1988 and 1992 games (I have the Olympic half dollar). As we all know, the US didn't host the games then. Should these coins be included? - Thanks, Hoshie 22:16, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- They most definitely should. If you'd like to add them, please do. I'd like to overhaul these article with photos, etc. when I have time. Thanks, Reywas92Talk 22:48, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Chinese coins from 2008
editWhy there still reads 27 (Projected)? It has been over three since the games ended. No further info anywhere? The current source seems to be a book (or other source) not available in internet. 82.141.73.244 (talk) 20:23, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Now it's been some 7 years from those games.
2004 and 2012 games have "N/A" as their amount. For London 2012, I know at least that there were 29 different 50p circulation coins released. Athens 2004 also had 2 euro commemorative coin, which also circulated. Both of those might have non-circulating coins also. 85.76.73.19 (talk) 05:46, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
And there are at least four coins in Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Greece) mentioned with "Athens 2004", though there are 15 more which could be 2004 Olympic coins since they are about Olympic sports and torch relays. 212.50.203.198 (talk) 16:39, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
