The result of the move request was: not moved. One month later, no primary topic of the same name. (non-admin closure) George Ho (talk) 06:00, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
– With respect to usage, this basketball player gets about 95% of Sun Yue's traffic therefore I believe he should be primary. Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 13:11, 11 September 2014 (UTC) Timmyshin (talk) 07:23, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Support per evidence of a clear primary topic by reader interest. bd2412 T 18:57, 3 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose - sorry, but not broke, so don't fix it. nothing in English Google Books suggests that the basketball player is as notable as the Guominjun warlord, nor even as notable as the singer, and certainly not more notable than all Sun Yues who have ever existed combined together. A basketball player will always get more page views even if he were named the same name as major Confederate general, that doesn't mean we should discount US Civil War figures to basketball players. The views show that basketball fans are not unable to access Sun Yue (basketball) simply because it has (basketball) and I'd guess that with likely mis-searches on "Lakers Son Ye Basketball" etc, the (basketball) makes the article easier to find than correctly remembering Sun not Son, Yue not Ye. - "A topic is primary for a term, with respect to usage, if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term." There is no guideline about results in Google Books and I certainly don't think it holds any importance. Timmyshin (talk) 08:11, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- User:Timmyshin. There is:
Usage in English reliable sources demonstrated with Google web, news, scholar, or book searches
- Oppose - there are two criteria for deciding a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC: usage and long-term significance. The nominator only addressed the usage aspect, but the warlord/provincial governor wins in terms of long term significance. In addition, there are several other Sun Yue's. There's no obvious primary topic, and the current set up works fine. -Zanhe (talk) 04:10, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose per Zanhe: no clear primary topic. The figure from the Republic era obviously has the most long-term significance. —innotata 13:54, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
