Use of "Oy"
editShould the word "Oy" be used after the company name? If i go on the appstore it says "Oy" for the company name. When I put in "Oy," "ClubotNG" deleted it. Just want to know wether or not we should use the word. Skipper1931 (talk) 13:10, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- It's short for Osakeyhtiö, meaning a limited company. It seems most accurate to leave it, and link to that article for explanation. I've done so in the infobox, also leaving the "subsidiary" type since it's both.

Proposed merge with Boom Beach
editNo, Boom Beach is a separate game. That would be like merging Angry Birds Go! with Rovio - even if it is not a big game, it does not mean it should be merged. Maybe to make everyone happy we could put a section on Boom Beach? Skipper1931 (talk) 13:06, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
No independent notability DGG ( talk ) 07:16, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
- A Google News search comes up with a lot of coverage for this recently released game. It seems notable to me. Candleabracadabra (talk) 12:57, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
- Their other flagship game "Clash of Clans" has its own page too. Why merge Boom Beach and not this other one? --70.83.240.49 (talk) 21:04, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
- I agree. Both "Clash of Clans" and "Hey Day" should be in the same category. Tris1313 (talk) 09:19, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- yje games are different and save each page of there own as do the super cell pages — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.86.17.202 (talk) 19:08, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- No, Boom Beach has notability now. Benthatsme (talk) 19:39, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
No, Boom Beach and Supercell are not the same thing. Why merge them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.68.128.114 (talk) 00:55, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

editThis edit request to Supercell (video game company) has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
It says "it was a immediate popularity" which is not grammatically correct. It should say "it was immediately popular" or something along those lines. Qndarwin (talk) 00:05, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
Removing Opinion Content
editThe section added on January 30 2016 concerning the Clash of Clans update contains a lot of unsubstantiated statements such as "Although many players quit, Supercell has done little to improve the gameplay since this update." and "Many players in the clash community have dubbed this update "the death of clash" as well as "the power of greed". The only source given is an opinion piece on a tech blog. Overall, I'm not sure what any of these edits have to do with the company and question their place on this page. 198.84.189.187 (talk) 21:31, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

Supercell (video game company) → Supercell (company) – There doesn't seem to be any other company named Supercell other than this one. Paul Badillo (talk) 00:57, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- There is Supercell (mobile network), which states that it is owned by Supercell SPRL, but not sure if that means it should or shouldn't be changed. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:47, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
That article doesn't seem to be notable as this one, plus that network's owner doesn't have its own page. Paul Badillo (talk) 22:45, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- Support on the condition that Supercell (mobile network) is deleted. I would recommend keeping this RM open until the AfD for the Congolese company is closed. SSTflyer 01:09, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
- Comment – The Supercell mobile-phone network owner is probably notable. I think that Supercell (company) should be a partial disambiguation page or, in the alternative, leave it the way that it is and just adjust all the incoming links. 71.191.205.5 (talk) 19:31, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. As Supercell (mobile network) has been kept, Supercell (company) is incomplete disambiguation and should point to the dab page.--Cúchullain t/c 15:18, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Merger date?
editIs the acquisition by 腾讯 complete yet? Usually mergers are announced when approved by the board of directors, pending “shareholder” approval; has final approval and the transfer of ownership occured yet? 72.66.79.205 (talk) 22:42, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Brawl Stars
editSince the game has no notability of it's own yet. It may be merged into the 'Games' section of parent company's page. Anand.abhishek73 (talk) 01:30, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- No - it may be too soon for a Brawl Stars article, but I don't even think it is. A Google News search comes up with a lot of coverage for Brawl Stars already, and the game is not even out globally/on Android. The game has been widely anticipated and has already seen success. All of Supercell's other games have articles, and I think Brawls Stars should too. HillelFrei• talk • 01:50, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed and removing merge for now. Anand.abhishek73 (talk) 02:03, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 07:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Lordtobi: Supercell (disambiguation) mentions also Supercell (mobile network) (a mobile phone network in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo), which also is likeliest run by a company. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 07:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose as in the last RM. As Supercell (mobile network) has been kept, Supercell (company) is incomplete disambiguation and should point to the dab page.--Cúchullain t/c 14:41, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Table needs to be fixed
editI attempted to edit the Games table in this article, but I’m not sure how the formatting works, and so the table does not display correctly (I was trying to make the Discontinued boxes red). Someone with knowledge of table formatting should fix this. I've fixed the table, please revert my edit if you feel it is less readable to any degree.Lucs100 (talk) 19:03, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
hey there might be a mistake here-on this site it says that CoC was made in 2012, while on it's actual site (the wikipedia one) says 2013, 24toonenata (talk) 01:07, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Semi-protecting page
editThis page is not protected while the pages of clash of clans, brawl stars and other pages for games by supercell are semi-protected. This is illogical as both are c- priority on on the video game project. --All the usernames I wanted (talk) 00:05, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- All the usernames I wanted, vandalism is not rampant right now, so protection is not required, but if this changes, you can request protection at WP:RFPP. Also note that "C" refers to perceived quality, not priority. Regards, IceWelder [✉] 07:45, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Founding date
editSomeone should verify the founding date for the company because the infobox and the first paragraph have different dates. Edipio 💬 01:08, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Supercell (video game company) → Supercell Ltd – The official name of the company is "Supercell Ltd." WP:COMMONNAME states that articles should use the name most commonly recognized. Renaming the article to "Supercell Ltd" would be consistent with Wikipedia's treatment of other company articles that use their official names (e.g. "Rockstar Games"). The current title, "Supercell (video game company)," is used to disambiguate but is less WP:PRECISE than using the company’s official name; see also WP:CONCISION. - Oppose - Either move it to Supercell (company) or Supercell Oy. Don't translate Oy as people may confuse it with a subsidiary. Examples of foreign company types - DNA Oyj, Eurofighter GmbH.- hahnchen 09:24, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose As hahnchen has said, the native official name isn't Ltd. If it has to be moved then make it Supercell Oy (or Supercell (company)) instead. Sceeegt (talk) 04:03, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Agree with this. "Supercell (company)" is probably a better dab, although I'd also avoid "Supercell Oy" because, even if it is official, correct and natural, it is absolutely not common. IceWelder [✉] 17:25, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose I find it interesting WP:COMMONNAME is being cited when they are not recognized by "Supercell Ltd" in the current cited sources. Current name seems more accurate to me. -OXYLYPSE (talk) 17:38, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
