Crap map...

edit

That map is crap. What's the point in showing something specific as one station (average area: 200 sq. yards) in the whole of Greater London (average area: 600+ sq. miles)???

Check out any other open station on the London Overground or London Underground, or any open National Rail station within the Transport for London area. They all have that map, or an equivalent covering a different area (as seen at Amersham station). --Redrose64 (talk) 19:14, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
...which doesn't really make the map less crap; it just indicates laziness. It's fine as an indication of the general area but something more precise is allowed. See; WP:MORETHANONEF*CKINGMAPISOK

The article has a coordinates link at upper right, through which you can access a variety of online mapping services. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:38, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Look sweetcheeks, I aint debating the matter, I'm telling you how it's gonna be. Capisce? When someone who has only just understood HTML claims to understand the railways...

...it's a state of affairs...

I'm sorry, but what exactly are you implying when you describe me as "someone who has only just understood HTML"? --Redrose64 (talk) 22:55, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
HTML = Heavy Ticket yield (Main Line), of course. Thought we were discussing the railways already? You Can Walk Like A'Gyptian  ;) (talk) 23:07, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

ROUTE OFGRAND SURREY CANAL INCORRECT

edit

The author has said that the Canal connected Camberwell to Rotherhithe VIA Peckhanm and Deptford. There were two branches from Surrey Docks which branched one went to Camberwell Road and the other to Peckham. There was no section from Deptford. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.108.233.118 (talk) 12:38, 28 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Plough Way was the boundary between Rotherhithe in Surrey and Depford in Kent, and it is still the boarder between Rotherhithe in Southwark and Depford in Lewisham. So while the canal did not connect Rotherhithe to Camberwell via Peckham the canal went from Rotherhithe via Depford before branching (see the maps in Grand Surrey Canal — although they can be confusing because what is now termed "South Bermondsey" used to be part of Peckham). 92.40.184.78 (talk) 19:31, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Line

edit

The introduction says it will be on the East London line, but the routebox says South London line. Which is correct? --TBM10 (talk) 19:52, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

It's kind-of both. Since the LO trains started running through from Dalston Junction to Clapham Junc, there isn't really a distinction any more. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:20, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

New Bermondsey railway stationSurrey Canal railway station – This is the new official name as of 2022. Crookesmoor (talk) 12:21, 13 April 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 05:09, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Change name. As the station has been given approval with this new name, and construction likely to start it shall be best to rename this article. Grandtubetrains (talk) 23:12, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Latest station name is definitely Surrey Canal per TfL. It went Surrey Canal Road > New Bermondsey > Surrey Canal. MyLondon is unfortunately in no way a reputable source.   JaJaWa |hello  10:51, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

New Bermondsey railway stationSurrey Canal railway station – The station has clearly been named in Lewisham Council planning documents[1] as being renamed (as a final name) Surrey Canal. The station name has also been confirmed in a London Reconnections article,[2] so it seems silly to leave the title as New Bermondsey. Surely common sense prevails to the extent that the first bold words of the article start with Surrey Canal?? I don't see any evidence of the name continuing to remain as New Berrmondsey, so the content should - as a result - be moved to Surrey Canal (the edit of which was reverted earlier this evening). Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 20:11, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Further - see this[3] as well. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 20:38, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Is this an actual station or just a planned one? Could the name change before it is built? Fredlesaltique (talk) 13:23, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

TfL have submitted the planning documents to Lewisham Council, so currently in the planning stage at the moment. However, I find it difficult to see any reason (or evidence) to why it should remain New Bermondsey, as Surrey Canal is the name they have submitted, and I don't think it will change.
