Removed "allegations he denies" from first sentence
editThe first sentence of the article currently reads:
Surviving R. Kelly is a six-part Lifetime documentary detailing sexual abuse allegations against singer R. Kelly.[1]
Mcfnord (talk · contribs) recently added the text "allegations he denies"
, changing the first sentence to:
Surviving R. Kelly is a six-part Lifetime documentary detailing sexual abuse allegations against singer R. Kelly,[2] allegations he denies.[citation needed]
I've reverted the edit, because the added text is redundant. An allegation against someone would not be described as an "allegation" if it were confirmed by them. — Newslinger talk 07:26, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
"WP:PUBLICFIGURE - If the subject has denied such allegations, that should also be reported."
It might suck, but that's the rule, using the exact word that you argue implies a denial. It does not imply a denial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcfnord (talk • contribs) 08:15, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

I want to add my two cents about WP:PUBLICFIGURE's denial rule. I still kind of hate it. But I don't think it's about lawyers. Rather, it's about the conservative nature of encyclopedia writing. I just throw it in with a[citation needed] because the allegation can't stand without the denial, and I've merely heard about denials, but MERELY IS ENOUGH in this instance. Any accusation about a living person might even assume their denial until proven otherwise. That's due to the nature of accusations, but really more due to our relationship with the facts. In general, an accusation of criminal acts, regardless of subject's PUBLICFIGURE status, merits doubt. What's interesting is, even after convicted, the subject might still deny the crime, and if so, that's noted. I've worked on a man named Darcus Allen's BLP, and he has denied the crime with specific public statements. I will say, when you stack up every denial to every allegation, the subject may seem unrepentent or dishonest. That's the reader's evaluation, not my own.

Local Links in the episode list?
editIs there a reason that all the episode titles are linked to local anchors which don't seem to exist (#ep1, #ep2, etc.)? Did something get removed, or were there individual episode pages prematurely created then shut down and the links weren't shut down properly? I'm hesitant to just remove all of them when I can't figure out why they're there. CleverTitania (talk) 08:48, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
