Swami Bhaskarananda SaraswatiBhaskarananda SaraswatiSwami is a Hindu honorific title. Inclusion of honorifics is discouraged through MOS:HONORIFIC and more specifically the proposed Indic naming convention (WP:NCIN) Labattblueboy (talk) 12:27, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oppose: Sorry, but I do not support the proposed move. There is not yet a consensus reached on this, or reliable sources provided to prove that "Swami" is a mere honorific title and not an actual part of a sannyasin's name. "Swami" seems to be at least a part of a sannyasin's common name. See Talk:Swami_Vivekananda, Talk:Swami_Chidbhavananda, Talk:Swami for previous discussions about this. The page Swami claims that "Swami" is an honorific, but provides not a single reference. And on the Swami Vivekananda talk page, no consensus was reached to move the page. Oppose, as per Devadaru (above). Furthermore, even if at some point there were a consensus that "swami" is merely honorific, one must still take into account this convention (from WP:Naming_conventions_(people)#Titles_and_styles): "Honorifics and other titles such as "King", "Queen", "Blessed", "Mother", "Father", "Doctor", "Mister", "Mrs" etc. are not generally used to begin the titles of biographical articles, unless they are used to form the unambiguous name by which the subject is clearly best known (as in Mother Teresa, Father Damien)" (emphasis added).
