This is not correct that Hill was killed after taking Montgomery Hill. His brigade was never anywhere near Montgomery Hill which was more than a mile to the north. He was killed after his brigade took Redoubt No. 3. He was ordering a charge on Redoubt No. 2 when he was hit by either artillery fire from Redoubt No. 2 or from small arms gunshot from Redoubt No. 2. I'll correct this with sources some day.
