editLovely picture! I just hope no one removes it. Shaneymike 14:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
incorrect parents
editYou list parents on this page that are incorrect according to the voice actor's own site http://www.tabithastgermain.com/meet-tabitha.html
so I am deleting it since it's unsourced anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.128.176.207 (talk) 22:56, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Derpy
editWhy is "Derpy Hooves" listed instead of "Derpy"?
The show only mentions the first part of the fanon name and it never mentioned Hooves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.13.174.66 (talk) 06:35, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
- True, gotta fix it. 181.50.211.135 (talk) 23:35, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Comic Con 2012
editDid anyone get a good (free) photo of her at Comic Con 2012? If not, I will personally get a photo of her (with her permission, of course) when I go to Everfree Northwest. dogman15 (talk) 10:00, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
OK, so I noticed that the link to her Twitter account was removed. - FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 03:06, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- See WP:ELPEREN. We do not list social media sites if the subject has an official website. They will be listed on that website if the subject wants them advertised. The only time we link a social media site is when it is the subject's primary internet presence. Skyerise (talk) 23:24, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
When was she born?
editSome sources say 1964, while others insist on 1976. I watched an episode of Swamp Thing (1990-1991) and can't really tell whether she is 26 or 15. Then again, who can? Radiohist (talk) 18:16, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
- If she doesn't want her age known, and it looks like that is the case, we need to respect that. See WP:BLPPRIVACY. An approximation that is backed up with something would be OK. If we can find a dated reliable source that mentions her age we could use
{{Birth based on age as of date}}
to justify and display that approximation. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:24, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
Nationality?
editHello, I'm a bit confused about the nationality here? It says that she's born in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S., yet it says her nationality is Canadian. Wouldn't she be a dual-citizen or something like that? Or am I missing something here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SoulSnow (talk • contribs) 13:26, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- See WP:OPENPARA, context section, for a bit of this. Canada is where she lives, works and has done her notable work, thus Canadian as the nationality context identifier for her. She likely has the right to claim American citizenship, if she wants to, but all indications are is that she is acting as a Canadian for her notable work. Born in the US gives birth-right citizenship but that is not imposed on the unwilling. Still nothing in article that said how she ended up in Canada, only that that is where she is and works, and nothing about what her current relationship with the US actually is. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:48, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
I see. It is more based on where (most of it, at least) she has done the (her) work and the country that she currently lives in and not so much based so much on (her) actual birth. SoulSnow (talk • contribs) 18:21, 27 February 2018
- Yes, that is what WP:OPENPARA would like to see in the intro. It gets more ambiguous for people who move around a lot and work and reside in different countries throughout their lives. Here it is fairly clear that all her notable work is while residing in Canada. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:30, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- I don't even think she's from the United States in the first place. From her website: Born between Outer Mongolia and Cape Cod via an unlikely genetic collision - What is between Cape Cod and Outer Mongolia, Vancouver Canada! It even says there: Neither Wikipedia nor IMDB get their information from me and it isn't accurate. I think someone just wrote "born in Boston, Massachusetts, United States" because she is notable for her work in Martha Speaks, which is produced by Studio B Productions and WGBH-TV in Boston. 2407:7000:A2AB:D00:310D:B1D7:A6F4:1AB2 (talk) 04:41, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
Birth information issue
editI have to admit. I am confused why her birth date and city information should not be included in this article? I suppose a reliable source probably from here on IMDb that should be correct, apparently when she stated her actual birthday on Twitter. --Allen (talk / ctrb) 03:28, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
- Birth date and birth location can't be included until we get a source for the information that meets WP:BLPPRIVACY requirements. As for IMDb, see WP:RS/IMDb and WP:Citing IMDb - we can't use IMDb for pretty much anything and specifically not for bio info. If she has a verified twitter where she unambiguously states her exact full birthdate we could use that as a reference per WP:ABOUTSELF. Geraldo Perez (talk) 04:09, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
- Another issue is that, according to Rotten Tomatoes, she was born on July 26th 1976 ([1])--Aspilemetala (talk) 20:54, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
