Starkwell/Starkweather?

I always wondered if Allen got the name of his protagonist, Virgil Starkwell, from the notorious '50s killer Charles Starkweather, who went on a murder-and-robbery spree in the Midwest in the 1950s, accompanied by an underage girl. This spree was the basis for the 1973 film "Badlands," Terence Malick's first major directorial effort. Third paragraph of "Plot" has scenes out of sequence?

I think the third paragraph of the "Plot" description has events out of order. I think the scene with the soap gun came before the attempted bank robbery with the misspelled note. Also, the mass breakout came later in the movie. Bunkyray5 (talk) 19:28, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
