Sources

edit

Per the "connected contributor" tag up top, I have a COI with Tapad. I'm going to be using this space as a storage pen for new sources that come out. Anyone is welcome to cross off ones that do not have anything useful, incorporate useful ones, etc. and I'll circle back every once in a while when the article has gotten to a point of being out-of-date. This looks like a nice, short article that has plenty of references and is generally well-written. I'll take this review. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 12:21, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lead

edit

The lead section looks good; its length is adequate given the length of the article.

History

edit
  • "In 2011 it raised…" - insert comma between 2011 and it.
  Done CorporateM (Talk) 15:08, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • "From mid-2012 to mid-2013 the company…" - insert comma between 2013 and the.

Software and service

edit
  • "...where a user is shown an ad on their mobile…" - user is singular and their is plural. I'd suggest using something like, "where users are shown…"
Not done See here; Their is acceptable use for singular. CorporateM (Talk) 15:10, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I guess that's fine, that's always been something that bothers me, but if dictionary reference says it's acceptable, then I guess it must be okay.

Privacy

edit
  • "burgeoning success risks irking Congress, regulators and privacy advocates." As this is a quotation, it needs a citation, although I assume that quote comes from ref 11?
Done Yes, I put an additional duplicate of citation 11 right after the quote. CorporateM (Talk) 15:11, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • ref 1 appears to be dead, while ref 7's url has been changed and should be updated.
Strange, both links work for me... CorporateM (Talk) 15:13, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's according to the external links tool at the top of the page, but if they work for you, I guess that's alright as well.
The forbes link can bring up an interstitial (which will change the URL) and the WSJ link can generate some query parameters (and not render the content), so that could be tripping the script up. Which external links tool are you using? Protonk (talk) 15:20, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
I just checked both links and they appear to work fine. It must have been some sort of glitch or something. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 15:28, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • refs 2, 6, and 10 need access dates.
  Done CorporateM (Talk) 15:16, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Is there any way to turn the second external link into an inline citation? If not, that's alright, it won't keep the article from reaching GA.
Because it's an interview, it's not a very good reliable source for an in-line citation. 15:20, 26 September 2014 (UTC)

Overall, everything looks great, there are just a few minor prose and references issues to be worked out. I see you are busy with Yelp right now, so I'll give you plenty of time to fix these minor problems. Nice work, --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 15:04, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

The article looks good, I'll give it a pass at this point. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 15:28, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Updates

edit

A couple of small updates I wanted to suggest based on new sources that have emerged since the Good Article review a few months ago:

Updates 2

edit

It's been almost eight months since I proposed some updates to the article. Since then the company has raised new funding, introduced new products and new sources have been published. I wanted to suggest a few updates to keep the article up-to-date. I've placed the proposed additions in bold red text at Talk:Tapad/draft to try to make it as easy as possible to review.
