Lyrics

You cannot include the entire lyrics to the Vanilla Ice song, as it is under copyright. As such, I removed them. If someone wants to write about the song, they can only quote small sections of the lyrics. --FuriousFreddy 18:35, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

Are you sure about that? I thought reproducing song lyrics was ok, as long as it was clear who the original artist is. I mean, tons of websites have copies of song lyrics, and websites have databases of as many song lyrics as they can get. Are they all in violation of copyright laws? -- Ritchy 25 August 2005

I looked into it, and I'm convinced we can use the lyrics here. US copyright laws (US code title 17, chapter 1, sections 107 and 108) state that an archive (which is basically what wikipedia and other online lyrics repositories are) can reproduce the work provided that it is not used for commercial purposes and is freely available to the public. Yeah, tell that to the previous owner of lyrics.ch who got his entire network confiscated in Switzerland because he was hosting a lyrics database. If you want to quote one chorus then we can get away with claiming that's fair use, or if you want to do a detailed analysis of the entire lyrics (see We Didn't Start the Fire and American Pie (song)), then you can quote the whole thing. The Shredder's return

Did Shredder really survive his fall at the end of the first movie? I was under the impression he died at the end of the first movie, and was somehow revived at the begining of the second one. Anyone has the movie, to check? --Ritchy 6 September 2005

We were supposed to believe he had died, but he "miraculously survived" worse for wear at the beginning of the second movie. In the comics, he was brought back by body-cloning worms, but in the movies you were supposed to take that he just survived since he only fell into garbage.

Sabotage?

Are we SURE the scientist altered the mutagen so Tokka and Rahzar would be infantile? I don't remember that being onscreen, but he might have admitted it later after the turtles rescued him, I forgot. It seems to me that since we learn in the first movie that the turtles started out as infants and had to grow up themselves (pizza! pizza!) that T&R had the same problem, being a baby snapping turtle and wolf before being mutated.

Is this really a "goof"?

"When Shredder mutates into Super-Shredder, he grows in size. However, his armour grows as well and still fits him. The mutagen should only affect him, not his clothes." In a movie that involves mutant turtles, rats and who knows what walking and talking in perfect English (well, Splinter has a Japanese accent), how does this qualify as a "goof"? Maybe it defies normal science and logic, but so does the entire movie Bobak 23:59, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

The mutagen is a kind of growth hormone, which affects (and unnaturally increases) the physical and mental development of animals. It does nothing to inanimate matter, such as clothing. It's a goof, in the same sense that we call it a goof when intangible people are able to walk through walls but not the floor. -- Ritchy 00:27, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

On the subject of said goofs... the mutegen used on tokka and rahzar was a new, altered batch created by perry, as stated while he made the antidote

Utroms

An anonymous user wrote:

Ritchy, I found this: The original ending to "Ooze" would also reveal the benevolent TGRI scientist, Jordon Perry, to have been an Utrom. But due to budget constraints, plus the fear he may be mistaken for the character Krang, the plot twist was abandoned.[1]

I don't think it is a deleted scene, just an idea that never eventuated. Its written about in the Production section. Davey4 05:33, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

I have removed the part about the Utroms because the website that is cited is not actually a site that takes you to an article with the backing information. Also, this is the first I have heard of this. Carface 01:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Production

I started the section. But as of now it is just one line. Any help on expanding it would be cool. Some of the Star Wars articles have great production texts. we should aim for that.

Changes

Hi, I made quite a few changes to the article. Mainly, I removed the triva/goofs as it is generally not seen in good film articles, but I saved the useful information, and merged it where appropriate. I also started a better cast section, like the ones on the featured articles. I also made the DVD and music releases under one section because they were too short to be on their own. Peace. Budget

Little big mistake

At the beggining of the article the info cites that the two new villains introduced are Beebop and rocksteady,while it should actually be Tokka and Razor(A grotesque mutant turtle and doge respectively). Far as I know Beebop and rocksteady(a mutant boar and rhinoceros respectively) were characters of the cartoon(not very familiar with the comics) and made no appereance or had no reference whatsoever in any of the films.El Gostro 00:29, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

GA review

I've put this GA on hold for the moment. While the GA does not require brilliant prose like a featured article does, it does need good prose, and this article, while informative, lacks that. "The movie is this. It did this. It also did this." It's very stilted and hard to read, and could use a good prose check and perhaps some reorganization, and you should be good. City Station

It is correctly mentioned that City Station is the inspiration for the Turtle's new home. Likewise, the article is correct that trains pass through City Station. However, passengers are allowed to ride through (although it is pointless to do so as the train simply turns around and heads back uptown). Red Letter Media Hoax

I went back a few versions of the article. Hopefully I saved the right one. I'm pretty sure, that Bob Rosenberg wasn't a facial assistant of the movie. I guess in reality he is the oldest child of the founder of Dunkin' Donuts.
