This is a little lighter on production coverage than I'd like, but there's enough here that I think this passes WP:NFF. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 10:03, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not the whole budget

edit

People (including usually reliable sources such as Variety[1]) keep mischaracterizing the money raised through Indiegogo as the entire budget of the film, which if you read the sources and think about it for a moment is clearly incorrect. As the sources say, the film had started filming and they went to Indiegogo to raise more money to refilm a key scene, so that money was extra and in addition to original the budget that the film started with, it was not the entire budget.

Maybe someone can find and interview with the director where he says what the actual cost ended up being but if you read carefully the sources are already telling us it was more than $250,000. -- 109.79.75.147 (talk) 11:58, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Source is dubious. It's an article from standard.co.uk (pay-walled, so I accesed it through archive.today) which references another article from 'ladbible' which has zero sources besides

'One fan explained: "Terrifier 2 was an amazing gory mess. The guy behind me passed out cold and crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say, and walking out the theatre door I heard a guy puking hard and loud in the bathroom."

It was written by a freelance "journalist" (according to her own twitter) Niamh Spence @missnspence whose articles which she provides you a link to are all comissioned fluff clickbait garbage.

Second, the creators of this film have manufactured vomit bags with the movie's logo on them as promotional tools. Just like the exorcist the whole 'audience literally shiting and vomiting and dying after watching it' too is promotional garbage and does not belong here. This is a wikipedia article not a free advertisement. 2607:FEA8:A22:2C00:7C73:4EBF:A38F:F5C (talk) 18:26, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

An encyclopedia should probably avoid including things that "allegedly" happened, instead of things that reliable sources say actually happened. I have removed the claims from the lead section as WP:UNDUE but left the claims in the article body for now. -- 109.77.205.15 (talk) 04:07, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oscars nomination...

edit

Should there be some sort of note about Bloody Disgusting, a producer company, submitting the film for consideration at the Academy Awards?

It's been noted in multiple sources, including the producer themselves--the official channel, with the hashtag #OscarsForArt. Should this get some recognition?

One line in the Accolades section would be more than enough (with at least a reference BD themselves, and also Variety.com to show it got a reaction) but it was a self admitted joke[2] that came to nothing so I'd say no to including it (not that editors let something being a stupid joke stop them before). -- 109.76.132.151 (talk) 16:05, 10 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
