Merge this article into my new article

edit

I created an article Hitler (Kershaw books) so we can add information about all of Kershaw's books related to the Nazi regime. At the moment only two of his books have articles. Why not mention all of them in one article?--OZZY19455 (talk) 15:56, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nice idea for an article, OZZY19455. Though I wonder about the practicality of a merge since this article is now pretty long. Would content be lost? Would it create a WP:WEIGHT problem in the target article? Also why is this article not linked to from the other? There is nothing wrong with two articles, if that is what is required by the length of the content. But if you think it can be merged and no real loss of content, that is OK also. -- GreenC 17:09, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@GreenC: It's my first article. I want the article to be predominantly about Ian Kershaw's two-volume biography of Adolf Hitler. However, I also would like it to include all of his other books that are about the Nazi period. If you could contribute to my article then I would be forever grateful.--OZZY19455 (talk) 21:06, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I do not think that the articles should be merged, since "The 'Hitler Myth'" has a significance and impact quite apart from Kershaw's excellent biographies. In any case, if you're serious about a merger, you should make a formal merger request. See WP:Merge. Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:26, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Beyond My Ken, I think you are right. I think the article I created should be only about Ian Kershaw's two-volume biography and only briefly mention the other books he has written about the Nazi regime. What do you think of the article I created at the moment?--OZZY19455 (talk) 20:52, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I haven't yet given it close attention, but right off the bat I'd say that you should have a section about the 2008 one-volume abridgment Hitler: A Biography, with a new preface, focusing on the ways in which it differs from the two-volume version. Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:49, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your recommendation. I created a section about the abridged volume. If you have any spare time and you are willing to then I would like it if you could help me expand and improve the article.--OZZY19455 (talk) 17:26, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
