Budget
editDelenda26, regarding the production budget, Wikipedia's content needs to be verifiable through reliable sources. These sources report the budget as $10 million, and I see nothing challenging that or providing an updated number. Generally, this needs to happen for any action to be taken. Alternatively, WP:OTRS is a channel you can use to report the article error. Please understand, we cannot take anyone's word and use it to override verifiable content. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 22:04, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
In addition, the budget of $10 million was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter here on January 20, 2016. The IMDb page on January 19, 2016 here did not show the budget, where it does now. So I doubt it is a case of The Hollywood Reporter cribbing from IMDb. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 22:09, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- The budget numbers in The Hollywood Reporter article are inaccurate, but I do not have another publication to cite since we never share exact budget numbers. That is why I simply wanted to remove the erroneous information rather than replacing it. However, if you prefer to keep it in, I will simply use this space as having gone on record that it is factually incorrect. I was the person who created and executed every version of the budget, and if for some reason someone ever needs more accurate information, they can find my contact information via IMDb. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delenda26 (talk • contribs) 22:56, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Delenda26, can you email info-en-o@wikimedia.org with your concern? It might be that the Volunteer Response Team can verify your identity and accept your input to correct the article error. Not sure if they'll need proof beyond your identity being confirmed. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 23:00, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
Synopsis doesn't mention slave revolt
editDescribing Nat Turner's role as the leader of a slave rebellion as becoming "a different (kind of) leader" is extremely euphemistic. Is this being done to avoid spoiling the movie for people who are clueless about black history? Ghostofnemo (talk) 08:15, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Personal Accuited Rape Allegaltion within a Article for the Movie???
editI don't think the Movie's wiki is the place for Nate's Personal issue with the acquitted Rape Allegation. That should be in Nate Parkers own personal Wiki, not in the wiki of the Movie.
I could find a few cases of legal issue from a person's personal wiki and start adding them to each movie they stared in.
I'm going to remove the Rape Allegations and add them to Nate Parkers Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:3020:707:4500:386F:8BE1:3351:FE37 (talk) 02:07, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Controversy: Retrial and appeal
editThe "Controversy" section originally stated that Celestin's new trial did not take place, “because the alleged victim did not wish to testify again."
However, the cited Collegian article does not support that statement. The Collegian article does not mention the victim's unwillingness to testify and in fact reads,
"Marshall said he has spoken with the victim and that she is ready to testify in trial.
"'Of course, she was upset. She doesn't want to have to do this again,"' he said.”
I therefore removed the text that read, "and a subsequent retrial did not take place because the alleged victim did not wish to testify again."
I also added a sentence with a citation simply stating that a new trial did not take place. Semiautorabbit (talk) 04:02, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
Historical Accuracy section
editWhy isn't there a historical accuracy section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8805:5C03:400:6434:241E:305:B538 (talk) 01:54, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Remove IMDB scores?
editWP:UGC says IMDB scores and other user voted scores should not normally be included. Is there WP:LOCALCONSENSUS to make an exception in this case or should they be removed from this article? -- 109.76.132.47 (talk) 17:05, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- Removed.[1] There should be discussion and prior local consensus before ignoring the rules. -- 109.78.196.114 (talk) 16:13, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
