citation needed

What exactly is "many"? This statement needs a source (such as a newspaper article or something). Doubtless SOME parents were upset, but there are always some parents who are upset for some reason, regardless of the film. Is there any proof that MANY were upset? Esn 00:20, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, I felt saddened by the flower. When it thinks it sees another one like it on Toaster, and after Toaster leaves, the flower "cries" by loosing it's pedals. AW man! ;_;

Technically, appliances are genderless, but it's a cartoon movie and entirely fictional. the fact that Toaster is voiced by a female doesn't prove anything either.Internetcrazy

That was a different flower toaster saw that was loosing it's pedals, because it couldn't find the flower that loved toaster, that's the reason why that other flower loved toaster, because it thought toaster was the other flower. And another thing, The Brave Little Toaster is Disney-Like. John Lassetter as the Original Director and Originally being a CGI movie

I just saw "Starz inside: The Pixar Story" and in it, John Lasseter said he was originally set to direct the Brave Little Toaster and he pitched it as a CGI movie Like Pixar would later do. he was told "The only reason to make it with the computer is if we can do it faster or cheaper" and was then Fired from Disney for it, and the movie was shelved before production picked up with the people who made the final movie. I find it odd that none of this is mentioned here, I think a paragraph should be added to the beginning of "Production" detailing this. User:Demonrin 19:42, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Song names

Who keeps changing the names of the songs? The soundtrack CD has the musical numbers as "City of Lights" (with an "S"), "It's a 'B' Movie," "Cutting Edge" and "Worthless." The article has this bogus bit about what the songs are "sometimes called" and claims "City of Lights" is really "City of Light" and "It's a 'B' Movie" is really "B-Movie Show." Whew! Did some housecleaning

This article has been bugging me for a while so I took the time today to really clean it up, trying to discard a lot of the detail that only really makes for a fan page. Hopefully it really sounds much more like an encylopedic article now! One thing I thought might still be important to add is a note on gender in the movie, how the appliances are "he" and "she" in the film based mostly on the sound of their voices. Even in the novella by Disch, the appliances are occasionally referenced by gender pronouns so I don't think the note in the Comparisons to the book section is entirely accurate. Cheers! A request was made for the article to be considered for B-class. Looking over the article, I did some minor cleanup (remember to keep contractions out of the article unless they're used in quotes) and rearranged some of the sections. I've added in Toy Story, considering the similarities in storyline and concept of inanimate objects coming to life in the absense of people, for which Toy Story is now the most known example of this concept. In terms of story you can note the appliances feel abandoned (as do the toys in Toy Story when Buzz is introduced). They also have to learn to work together (as do Buzz and Woody in Toy Story). Near the end of the film the appliances are about to be crushed (like the toys nearly melted on the conveyor in Toy Story 3) but Rob returns (the toys find Andy again in Toy Story 3 who then donates them to a young girl as he is now too old to enjoy them). Dark Themes section notability and neutrality dispute

The Dark Themes section of this article states that this article is half-inappropriate and dark. Some may think that, but it fails to state who thinks this (in form of a reference). Such, this is not a neutral point of view. Also, it says that it should be rated PG, but in parentheses, it says "PG13 was nonexistant at the time"". This is unsourced and seems to be completely irrelevant. The notability is also disputed, as its information could be trivial. Does it belong in an encyclopedia? Maybe. Release date confusion

Hi Geraldo Perez, I noted your revert here. This is a weird one, so your input is appreciated. The existing source (see the liner note printed as page 17) says that the film was released July 13, 1987 at the Wadsworth Theater in Los Angeles. An editor changed the value here, citing this source, which is often used in film articles, although the data is not as specific as the liner notes. I'm not quite sure what to do about this. I actually went through some Google newspaper archives and found one newspaper that claimed the film premiered at the Park City Film Festival in January 1988, so there are inconsistencies everywhere. @Cyphoidbomb: I have no idea which reference to believe although the liner note seems the most likely correct. My reverts were generally because the existing reference was deleted and info changed to something else and no new reference added. Voice cast section needs to be reverted

I once edited this page to have a more accurate voice cast section since there were a bunch of fake names for the characters listed, and it seems like there are unsourced claims of what brands of appliances some of them are... I know this because some of these are actually headcanons I made up for fanfiction reasons years ago outside of this site. I don't know who saw these ideas and thought they were real despite me making it clear that I just made them up. Anyway, none of the Cutting Edge appliances have specific brands. The telephone is not a smartphone, the hanging lamp isn't a hanging lamp and a desk lamp at the same time, the black-and-white TV is just called TV by the characters in the movie. Rob's last name isn't Minkoff, it's McGroarty. Rob's mother is unnamed and Chris has no specified last name. The best improvement of the edits I made sometime ago are from 17 October, 2020, so I would recommend reverting the voice cast list to this.

Whoever is vandalizing this article repeatedly, please kindly refrain from renaming these characters and insisting that the appliances in the Cutting Edge sequence have specific brands. No brands are confirmed and you're just happening to use ideas I got and claiming they're facts, and I would rather people not push my personal ideas as real facts.
