Possible DYK
editHi, I was wondering if this could be taken to WP:DYK?? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:35, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Dumb claim
edit"nuclear symbols could be seen (suggesting that the country was building a nuclear weapon, contrary to the findings of US intelligence reports)."
No, 'nuclear' symbols are present when radioactivity is a concern. You may notice the labs in your local hospital have 'nuclear' symbols, are they building weapons? Oh of course, it is referenced so it must go into the article.Greglocock (talk) 05:38, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Categorization
editWhy on earth was this labeled as a British and Belgian film? The only British and European (no Belgians were involved with this film at all) people involved in this film are the actors. Everyone else, from the director to the producers to the person who wrote the script for this film, comes from America
Mostly negative review?
editWhile it is true that most of the 22 reviews on rotten tomatoes are negative. It seems a bit selective to say the film therefore has mostly negative reviews. For example the film has a moderately favorable rating 6.4/10 on IMDB from 732 reviews.
IMDB isn't used on Wikipedia. And please sign our comments. Thanks. - Over Hill and Under Hill (talk • contribs) 12:25, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Comparing the film with what actually happened?
editShouldn't there be more mentions about the difference between the actual events versus what happened in the film? There must be sources detailing this. Currently, there's not much and it would be good to explain what was fictional and what was not. Sincerely, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 21:31, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Indeed. I don't know whether the whole cult/white-hair thing is a confabulation of Daniel's.
- Also, I think "Nick" is supposed to be Luke Harding (co-author of one of the books the film is based on). I don't know why they changed his name, but not Rusbridger's. At least, if Nick isn't Luke Harding, then Harding's total absence from the film is notable.
- Who stands in for David Leigh (the other co-author)?

Proposed merge of Mediastan into The Fifth Estate (film)
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To not merge, as these are different films warranting separate coverage. Klbrain (talk) 03:34, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Its relevance and notability is because of the fifth estate, and the information is already on that article Softlemonades (talk) 14:02, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- No, the two films have almost nothing in common other than the timing of the release. --NSH001 (talk) 17:56, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- The Mediastan article seems to say it was made and released as a challenge to the Fifth Estate but look forward to you expanding the other article Softlemonades (talk) 18:04, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
